damage UVs don't do much
Glacies' shield research threads suggest that damage UVs don't have much effect on shields.

Status resistances will always be better, ofc we can't punch shields for those... yet dmg uvs may give you that very little edge in certain situations. In the right time and place, and if the RNG gods are pleased, you can get away with and unbroken shield.
I have a piercing (+ elemental lol) + normal max bts, it managed not to break after a couple of frostifur bites whereas my party mate's bts did in fact gave up.
Not enough to make it your goto shield for shadow damage
