Hey Knights!

Looks like I'm not dead (did you miss me?)

I've been off in my own world, playing new games, getting heavily involved with others. A few days ago, the halloween patch on SK brought me back online. To my disapointment, there's no actual new content (aw.) But nevertheless, Spiral Knights still has a special place in my heart and is still a great game for what it is (If only we could get more stuff to play or do! But one thing at a time..)

In my epic adventure, I have noticed that Spiral Knight's text box is a bit...awkward in comparison to other games. So I thought I should make a suggestion!

The chat box is a single, large box that scrolls. Every message from Guild, to Trade is displayed in a single easy to navigate chat box.

This is fine and dandy and all, but let's say you're little miss popular? Or even just ended up in a really chatty Haven?

Here are my following suggestions for the Chatbox to bring it into a more modern age.

1: Chat Tabs. Allow chat to be broken up into several tabs of the player's liking.

Tab One should be General, containing messages from all chat sources, with exceptions.

When a player makes a Chat tab, such as /g* to put Guild chat into it's own tab, Guild chat will no longer show in General, but instead in it's independant tab.

Allow chat to be broken up into Guild (/g*), Zone (/1*), Trade (/2*), or Whispers (/t Player*) by player. System Announcements should show on all tabs at once, regardless of which you're on.

When you recieve a message on a tab, have it blink or change the text of the tab to indicate you have recieved a message on it.

2: Allow the copying of chat.

It's really simple, why don't we have the ability to copy text off chat? Many people like to save chat logs, other people like to share links such as guild sites, random youtube links, ect.

Two suggestions that should make the chat box much more manageable and will be a simple upgrade that will make the life of a knight easier.
