So well i got the gunner update news last year and it said its coming out in November its this November right
The Gunner Update Should Be Coming Out This Month Right?
If they do release the gunner update this month, I am going to buy Energy and play the game 4 times every week until the end of the year.
they meant it for last November actually, it got delayed 3 times though
no, it got delayed, it's coming out january.
they announced it for November, then January, then "when it's ready"
there is nothing in that post relevant to its current release date
They've been developing a time machine so they can go back and release it in the time they first announced it was coming.
I actually predicted a November 2014 release. One year to work on something without any update is a very long time indeed, we aren't talking about an entirely new game, it's more a small DLC focusing on a small part of the game (gunner update). It just gives the impression the length of wait isn't worth one Gunner Update, something more has to be added to compensate.
Whether the rumours are true and OOO are indeed working on the Arcade Redux along with the the Gunner Update and what ever else they threw into the mix, well we have to wait and see. My only gripe is if OOO have the time to dish out promo after promo, surely they could spare some time to keep their most loyal fans in the loop. You know the ones who pay real $$$, or at least the ones who actually play the game.
it's been a year since it was announced to the community, the actual gunner update has probably been on the works for a longer ammount of time, at least I have enough reasons to think so.
Speculations, guesses and uh... Spying are the only tools we have to draw our conclusions, so as it stands now even the craziest and most ridiculous predictions cannot be disproved... a waste of time if you ask me, but the community had nothing better to do for the past year sadly.
"A Deluxe Start for the New Year!"
Anybody remember this quote from the beginning of the year? Almost bitter sweet that the "deluxe start" actually meant the year of promos.
I'm predicting a December 2014 release, because what better to time to drop the gunner update/arcade redux/ whatever during the Christmas season of gift giving. November would be a boring month to release a monumental upgrade to the game.
If that fails I'll give them credit holding off until the game's anniversary in 2015.
So no big unveiling/opening of the core for 2015 anniversary?
"rumors" lol nick said they were doing that, its not a rumor
Nick said they are working on those things, but he didn't say the Gunner update will be delayed for over a year because we are working on all these things at once. I've read in a number of threads over the past 5 or 6 and the most common defence in OOO behalf is that they are working on Arcade Redux and the Gunner update, hence the delay. How do people know that?
Have I missed an announcement?
Half life 2 was intended to be released September 30th 2003
It was ACTUALLY RELEASED November 16th 2004
Similar happenings could be said about the gunner update.
Half Life 2 is a whole new game.
Gunner Update is an...yes you guessed it....an update. What's the excuse now?
If every developer took as long as OOO to develop DLC and worthwhile updates with no thought in keeping anyone in the loop, they would very quickly lose a lot of their player base. A lot of people have put in tonnes of hours and money in hope the game continues to grow and improve, big shame if the Gunner update turns out to be average at most. Still I'm sure they have their reasons and I'm sure they won't let themselves or us down.
Gunner update < Entire game
yeah, they could have missed on their time schedule, but not for this much considering what is going to be brought.
HL2 delay is just one of several dozen delays from Valve
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time
This is the full list, and even with all these delays Valve's games are still considered some of the best.
TF2, HL, CSGO, Portal, DOTA2
Exactly but with Valve they are busting out new games and major updates. All OOO needs to do is add a dozen guns with new gameplay mechanics (some are basically reskins from what I've seen and heard). Can't say much about the Arcade Redux but even then they shouldn't be concentrating on many things at once.
I shudder to think if we will ever see the opening of the core after this delay.
Forgive me if I'm completely off the mark when it comes to the gunner update. I don't know much about it other than what friends have told me after being in the test server. But based on what they have said it's not exactly game breaking stuff. Maybe that's why OOO are taking longer, maybe they are working hard to add tonnes more new content to the Gunner update?
Valve has 330 employees
OOO has only about 40........ 10 are working on SK
Yeah...so they should know how much they can handle being a small team. Look it's not hard for just one member to post a one liner to let everyone know what's going on.
"The Gunner Update is coming along very well, just as we planned" would be more than enough to raise some excitement.
arcknightdelta im gonna shoot you in the face with common sense here
THE CORE SHOULD NEVER BE OPENED
it would be the end to the entire storyline, preventing all new missions and giving people closure to leave the game
Or it could actually lead onto an entirely new series of depths. The core could in fact be much larger than the world we are currently in. Sort of like the Tardis effect.
Games never need to make sense. They just need to be fun.
if it really was bigger on the inside it wouldnt need cradle
and stated through the echo stones, its supposed to be a safe place for a being to sleep, there would definitely not be enemies there
edit: before you think about a "swarm infected core" idea, if it was taken over it would stop powering the clockworks and wouldnt give off a WHITE glow
Supposed to be, but might not be. The core could be a half way point to something much more evil. A sort of temporary refuge before the final battle. OOO could make up anything just to add more content and more story to the game. Spiral Knights doesn't have to end with the opening of the core. In fact it could actually be something of a new beginning.
Shadow lairs with extra difficulty. Something for the more experienced players to try out for free but in doing so risk a lot.
im done with this conversation, you missed both the main point and the facts I put in
Oohnorak, there is something called "deception" and "plot twists".
there are also strange, highly explosive things named "opinions". it seems yours just exploded.
remember, there is a potential for that plot twist in the game. the fact that the clockworks seem more to cage something than to protect it (Feron), and the fact that gremlins couldn't build such a large thing as Cradle (Valeyn).
No, they were talking about next November. Sorry!
