What would you say is an optimum 4-man party for clockworks in general?

Assuming we have 4 people who work incredibly well with each other and have levels of coordination that borders on telepathic, what kind of equipment loadout do you think would be able to carry them through almost any level in the clockworks?

A team of a few guys packimg vortexes and antiguas come to mind. Maybe a Suda and Blitz to nuke the vortex'd enemies. Hazes would be great too I suppose.

some ideas

Your plan --- one knight placing vortexes and the other knights using big charges --- sounds good. I don't know why you bring up Antiguas.

One knight with Combuster, Acheron, and Blitz Needle can destroy anything in the Clockworks. Throw in Dark Briar Barrage if this knight wants an easier time dealing with fiends. But that answer is no fun.

A party of Nitronomes with CTR+6 is pretty hard to stop. Replace Nitronome with Dark Briar Barrage and Dark Retribution if you want less knockback. Throw in a haze bomber if pure damage bombing seems too boring.

If you're looking for more interesting teamwork, consider sending a knight cloaked by Maskeraith behind enemy lines, to deliver a Warmaster Rocket Hammer dash against a key turret or other enemy. This game's tactics aren't super-interesting, but you can do little stuff like that.

The problem with the vortex bombs are the few enemies that they don't work well against, like devilites. Your team might be able to win against the devilites, but they would not do so easily. The optimal team adjusts with what it is fighting and with what it has to make the most out of its situation.

SCP-96

A team of 4 with alchemers variety only
Or
A team with neutralizers/biohazards. Anyone that has been in either of these parties knows exactly what I'm talking about. Assuming this isn't many of you and its a very rare sight, Imagine mobile t3 gun puppies that never stop shooting.

Ooo, are we talking about Neutralizers and Biohazards?

...I'll just say... I can't wait for the gunner update patch for Catalyzers. You know what I'm talking about if you were in the test server.
Nonetheless, 'tis is my dream team:

The Exalt:
Generalized weapon wielder and monster specialist, knockback dealer. Pays close attention to environment and enemy positions; carries one sword, one gun, one bomb, and one more weapon of either type.
Preferable weapons: Leviathan Blade, Windmillion, Valiance, Nitronome

The Repitition:
Crowd controller and offensive guardian; gathers enemies together for easier damage input and provides strong offensive power along with great defense. Carries a Vortex, Troika weapon, Brandish of any kind, and Flourish / Thorn Blade. Supports the Corrupt.
Preferable weapons: Electron Vortex, Triglav, Combuster, and Barbarous Thorn Blade (For knockback / temporary retreats)

The Ailment:
Semi-crowd controller and support gunner. Behind The Exalt and Repitition, support guns accordingly to the scenario: Freeze for fleeing enemies, Fire for bundled enemies, Shock for rigid and varying types of enemies with unpredictable attack patterns. Carries one of every Status Alchemers.
Preferable weapons: Storm Driver, Hail Driver, Magma Driver, Nova Driver (Umbra for Jellies / Gremlins)

The Corrupt:
Explosion / Shockwave specialist, tactical coordinator. Behind the Exalt, but ahead of the Repitition. Supports the attacks of The Exalt. Exalt leaves knockback radius, The Corrupt tags enemies, forces them into place with Shock before the Exalt, or before the Repitition for advanced positioning of the crowd, creates a boundry line to provide extended time (i.e. Charging) and weakens enemies with poison. Carries a Polaris (Non-Spamming, focuses on keeping enemies away or in place temporarily), a Catalyzer, Tortofist corresponding to any scenario, and Obsidian Carbide / Antigua gun (Can be replaced with a heavy sword)
Preferable weapons: Obsidian Carbide or Gran Faust, Polaris, Biohazard (If OC is replaced with DA), and Gorgofist.

I've been in a few of those neutralizer/biohazard parties, and they're a bit... uncoordinated and messy. The slow shots and ability to overshoot and lose damage (if there are 3 shots on an enemy one hit away from death, you just lost a ton of damage) really doesn't help either.

Apparently, in the in-game files, it is. I prefer to call it by that because it makes more sense to me.

......

Assassin: Uses Flourish and Obsidian Edge to poison and finish off key targets, other weapons in this set are Stagger Storm and Fiery pepperbox.
Mender/Silkwing elimination, SS support, and FPB for universal annihilation weapon.

Tank commander: Uses DA charges, Supernova, Shocking Salt bomb (for flinch and status), and Cryo Driver.
Uses weapons to push back and impede enemy movement while the team deals damage.

Sniper: Umbra, Storm, and Magma Driver for selective target elimination, Callahan for flinch and status support as well as damage type coverage.
Hang back and pick off enemies, use Callahan to pin down devilites, use status alchemers to inflict both statuses.

Erosion Bomber: Dark retribution, Dark Briar Barrage, Voltaic tempest, Ash of Agni
Use haze bombs to inflict dual status, use other bombs to capitalize on movement reduction of VT

I'm vohtarak, call me by that name

ill just not mention the UVs and perks
but I use mercurial mail, seerus mask, dread skelly shield
a 2 weapon combination of obsidian carbine, blitz (soon to be replaced by callahan I think), and warmaster rocket hammer
maskeraith (punkin) soon to have virulent quills, vengeful cloak, and chaotic haze

that fills none of your optimum player types

You'd probably end up along the same lines as the Assassin, but instead of using swords to deal most of the damage you would pick off the healing enemies with your guns and sprite.
