I had a thought:
I think it's more accurate (and lets future editors not quibble over numbers and what "bonus" health actually is), and with the notices, lets people know what changes and what doesn't, and why stat bars and defense bars seem to not say the same thing despite using the same segment dimensions (at a glance).
EDIT: added a note option for the long-annoying "this item's stat is WAY higher than the bar says" for the ancient plate mail, using that page as an example right now. These notes would be item-specific, vs. the "notice tooltip" which applies to all relevant items.
Alternative is to put that in the notes section, as cluttering "info" templates is a bad idea. (Yes I really pushed the cluttering for spriteinfo ;P).
I greatly prefer the notes -out-of-the-template option.
I'm not sure that I understand. You want tooltip notes to explain some basics of the rules?
That seems reasonable, but it leads me to the question: Where does it end? I mean, there could be a tooltip on just about anything, explaining how it fits into the rules.
Also, if we want to let people learn more about statuses or status resistances or whatever, why not just make a link to the relevant wiki page?
