I might have a trivia contest over winter break.
Happy Holidays
You could have people submit literally any combination of existing items using some combination of costumes they've made, Spiral Spy or the preview function? Maybe have it be a hypothetical costumes theme....you could easily host it live on Twitch as well, as that's made for these kinds of events.
A contest that involves opening tons of boxes... haha, welp, good luck with that.
I hope that prize to be huge because the users that will join this contest will not be short on money or anything like that, so don't be greedy lords and m'ladies millions worth :P make nice things for yourselves at least for the ones that don't have the means to do so.
Sure you don't need to open boxes but all prize box accesories come from... well, a box... so yeah.
TBH I misunderstood the thing you said about thematic stuff (Like for some reason I thought that the costumes had to be ONLY from vile prize boxes or that winterfest prize box, lazy reading got me) and that meant lotsaboxes.
But you all still rich so that prize better be HUGE. lolz
Dec 27th is a very busy time of the year here in America, far more so than Halloween or Easter.... Perhaps you could host an event during a time when a large number of players will be available to play
Summertime comes to mind but I feel you don't want to postpone this for that long.
Just try to find a good date. Look at when school/college goes to break for example and when most people leave work. During Winter break (but before the holidays really kick in) after 5 or 6 PM sounds good since school is out and the workplace is slowing down.
P.s.
Are you considering my category suggestion?
Unfortunately with live voting the most appealing costumes are usually the most expensive. Rich get richer, egotistical gets more egotistic, majority is disappointed. NOT THAT RICH PEOPLE HAVE LARGES EGOS AHAHhahahaa....... *nervous pant*
One category could be a beggar's costume though- The most terrible, cheapest, uncoordinated outfit a person can slap together.
I actually like Lunarias' idea of a poor man's costume category. Put a price cap on it, and the sum value of the costume can't exceed it to qualify.
can snarby set and hallow fur coat/cap be in?
Ya, this is gonna be a contest for the rich and the rich alone D;
Well, have fun I guess...
Gh-heh...
I'm all about holidays, but lovely costumes are all out of reach in the hands of the rich man called Twilight...
Yeah, that's about how I feel about these fashion contests too Gigaslash. I mean, there's nothing wrong with a bunch of so called rich people showing off their stuff- it's just not really much a valid contest because of how limited it becomes. You can't say that they're the most artistic except for of that subgroup of knights.
*Comment redacted by herd of feral fashionistas*
Guys guyse let's stop the criticizing here please, I mean damn, idk if I started this or what but we shouldn't really be filling this thread with that, let them do their contest, it's not like we have the right to tell someone what to do with their money, if it takes too much to enter well it's none of our business, it's not like they're forcing you to enter this contest or anything...
Inb4 some smart one comes to say that I complained, I wasn't complaining or criticizing either, I was just saying that the rich players could at least donate some money if they're rich enough to get in there in the first place so gtfo son.
I mean like I said, these contests are fine. They're just not really to be taken too seriously. I don't mean to hate on Mawa.
Spiral Knights trivia contest added for everyone in attendance with prizes for first one to answer correctly
We don't all have 10 outfits , could we just submit one for each category to simplify things and expedite the show.
That is still a nice 5 costumes for everyone.
If you don't change your mind will players get penalized for not having 10 sets?
The 10-sets category if for those super rich players with ten nice sets to show them off. It is independent of the other categories. You do not need ten sets to enter one of the other categories.
Also, if too many people want to be considered for voting in some categories, I'll limit it to the best eight for that category in my opinion.
The trivia contest is 20 questions. There will be a prize (limit of one per player) for each question, and nicer prizes for the winners in each category.
All prizes are costumes or acccessories.
No one is going to get rich off the prizes, but I hope we'll have some fun.
Is this a one day event or will entries be accepted over the course of multiple days? (Many of us have stuff to do in our lives and multiple days would allow more people to compete)
Is there an event time? If so, how do you plan to handle players wishing to enter from other timezones? (some of us play at night some during the day)
____________
Category suggestion: Un-accessorized. Reason? not all costumes or armors have accessories that fit their theme (rusty mad bomber or grey owlite for example), some don't have accessory slots (Halloween masks for example)
