My favorite vocaloid is Rin Kagamine.
I haven't watched anime seriously in years, but my favorite has always been Vision of Escaflowne.

The ones for Len Kagamine are really good, because it actually sounds like a 14 year old boy :L
Rin's are just kinda high pitched and robotic :S
Gumi's getting better, just no one realises her, they only listen to miku :S

We even have the same singing talent.
There's too many awesome vocaloid songs to name. If you're only talking about the Japanese vocaloids, I don't really like the way Len and Rin sound... I actually think Kaito and Meiko sound the most natural.
As for anime, Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex is hands-down, by far the very best show I have seen in terms of plot, animation, and thought-provokingness. The only other show that even comes close is Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.
