Almost all competitive games are like that, same way that in most competitive games you can get crushed and dominated by a pro. like in CS GO there are dudes that idk if they're on drungs or what but they use the sniper rifle to one-shot people in a split second, and they don't even give you time to react, much like in starcraft, It always sucks when you're up against a guy that is much better than you, you barely have any chance against them. but that's competitive for ya buddy, if that could not happen then it would not be very competitive right, after all the guy is more skilled than you are and that is what competition is about the skilled one wins, the others lose.
You'd do your best to have some good friends to play the game casually and for fun, away from the problems of competitive play, like I do with both starcraft and CS GO, but none of my IRL friends play spiral knights, and LD's random matching makes that impossible so... yeh, LD in a nutshell.
People shouldn't argue that competitive playing and playing for fun are mutually exclusive. The reason people get good at LD is because they find it to be fun and play more to have more fun, which in turn makes them better at having fun and so on.
But since you asked ❤
