Spiral HQ - WHERE IS IT?

All things considered, being blown out of space and being stranded on a planet where even the local furries and their wildlife hate us, amidst all this we have an HQ that sends us boxes with prizes if we pay them our bi-weekly "YOUR IN THE ARMY" tax.

But... where is HQ if we were to canonly think about it? On some far off side of the planet? Because they certainly aren't located in Haven.

I imagine it's in a super descreet and secret location on the far side of the planet, with some large warehouse that manufactures these silly costumes and promotes disguising ourselves as the enemy (to no avail). And there at the teepy top, Cherub and all the other GM's and the Devs hold secret meetings.
This would also explain why they have a hard time communicating with us, because everyone knows sending messages by snipe takes 2 weeks at least, right?

OR MAYBE PERHAPS THEY ARE ALL BEING HELD CAPTIVE BY AN EVIL CORPORATION OF ROBOTS!!!!

Where it is.

Jokes aside, I always thought HQ was set up in the remains of Skylark.

Now that there's a new intro scene with Skylark being blown to pieces, maybe I should reconsider. I'm thinking somewhere near the arcade, such as past either of the walls. The East-side would make the most sense, and here's why. The Guild Hall, Lab, and Hall of Heroes were built relatively recently, making East Haven now one of the most Knight-developed areas. This doesn't rule out the possibility that HQ was setup over there, as maybe they've just now moved it underground.
It probably isn't over near West Haven, as that area is relatively low-traffic (from NPCs, too) and hasn't been touched much by the Knights (to the point it could be called one of the few remaining parts of "Old Haven")

It's true! Just look at how

It's true! Just look at how the Devilites are already being outsourced to make constructs, like fiendish tortodrones!

We can only guess what shape the real HQ is in.
Although I guess it cant be too bad with GM powers.

Isn't the lab the heart of Spiral-HQ, which is basically just Haven?

The artifact was placed in the lab, we see many of the army related NPCs in Haven, and the generator recovered was also used in this area.

SK HQ is at bechamel's beauty shop, where he leads the spiral order and cuts the cardboard for more accesories to make.

not as bad as it looked

I'd guess they're in the Skylark or the nearby buildings in Haven.

The Skylark was badly damaged, enough so that your character and most other knights used the escape pods. But apparently the pilots stayed managed to land with the ship more-or-less intact. Your main job is only to find a power source to restart (or replace) the engines. You aren't looking for a new replacement ship, nor a way to contact the rest of the fleet.

You know that mineral deposit

You know that mineral deposit area in the lab? It's actually a secret entrance to the HQ!

@ Smalltownguy

And what are we going to do about those freakin' SHOOP DA WHOOP lasers that shot us down?

lasers

@Holy-Nightmare: You're right. You'd want to take out those planetary-defense lasers before attempting to take off.

I'm guessing they're connected to FireStorm Citadel somehow. After all, Vana is insane about defending against perceived intruders. If so, their power source may also be of great interest to Skylark command.

Might that be some of the unfinished post-game material? Now that Vana is gone, fight your way to the lasers before the Crimson Order gets there first?

@Fehzor, OP means like where is the command structure, Captain Ozlo, Agent Kora, and the actual "ops center" of the Spiral Order that orders come out of. That's not in the lab.

My guess, second floor of the mountain behind Haven, above the Arcade gates.

p.s, can we go up there please? or anywhere on Cradle besides haven?

While we're on the topic of Head Quarters and LAZERS, does anyone know what happened to Captain Ozlo?

Did he go down with his ship, or is the Skylark still exploding after 3 years and we're still getting new recruits falling out of the sky (Because a captain can't abandon his ship until all crew escapes) ?

If they haven't changed the lore, then the Skylark crashed long ago and pieces of it are scattered around Cradle, with some parts being scavenged like the auxiliary power core to power the Lab. And he's still alive, because he's apparently given orders since then.

Well, if you look at the graphics of the planet itself, as well as the rare far shots from the surface or uppermost strata, the crust of Cradle is pretty thick. Combine that with the natural presence of literally planet-bearing metal supports, and underground settlement sound pretty likely.

Also, take a moment to consider where the Recon Ranger ready room exists within SK influence... it'd have to be at least near Haven, as the Rangers are elite, highly valuable to any garrison efforts or time-intensive operations. If the Gremlins besieged Haven, for example, the Recon Rangers would be needed to keep the pressure on the enemy force, without getting caught or killed. Back to the point at hand, the Ranger ready room seems very enclosed and without gratings or windows on the walls. This indicates, at least to me, that the place could be underground, potentially right underneath Haven.

If we consider the knight population realistically (less as a game and more as a place) it seems likely that Haven as the Order would know it, would be a fair bit more expansive than what we see. We don't really know what lies between the playable areas-- maybe it looks more like a proper city with alleys and residential areas just outside our sight. Further, with the sudden introduction of a whole populace to the place, some expansions would be needed at a fast rate. Unless, of course, you want to make the argument that canonically only a few thousand knights survived the crash or something. My only defense against that being the Skylark was enormous looking and probably carried most of the Isoran race, considering the business with the Morai War and the dying world.
My point is primarily that to expand, space is necessary, and Haven migh not have had that much horizontal space considering the surrounding terrain appears very uneven. The most logical direction for expansion with that ruled out, is down. Unlike our world, Cradle already has a ridiculous emphasis on downward progression, which'd likely tweak any residents toward the same direction in their building.

@Ironianknight

I'd have to disagree with you on a few points there. The Skylark most likely did not carry most of the Isorans, for two reasons.

1: When you consider the lasers Cradle shot at it, and the fact that Cradle doesn't appear to be very big, there's no way a ship of the size required to carry an entire planet's population would be taken down that easily.

2: A ship with enough space to carry the entire population of a planet? Are you insane? Did you see Wall-e? It's virtually impossible to make a ship that big, you would need hundreds or thousands.

And don't say anything about the opening cutscene, that's obviously out of proportion.

I also think that having your HQ underground on a planet where everything below the surface is hostile towards you and only gets stronger the further underground you get is a fairly bada idea. The Strangers let us build the Lab, Hall of Heroes and Guild Hall in the center of Haven, so the HQ and everything else important is most likely there as well. The Recon Launch station has to be underground, because it has an elevator to danger missions in it. Plus, underground means closer to the action. And it doesn't even have to be that close to Haven, since it's probably not the Recon Rangers' home base. It's their mission control center, so to speak. The monitors on the walls and the people on duty there probably coordinate ongoing missions, but it's not like Dezna sits down there for 8 hours a day. She probably has an office in Spiral HQ with all the other officers, somewhere in Haven.

Sorry for responding late, was busy the last few days.

In regards to your two points, which seem to be more like two faces of one point (unrealistic proportions).... all I can think of is "A machine the size of a planet, made of continent-sized gears, powered by some kind of god spirit thing, with a bunch of fragments of other worlds suspended inside it, not being torn apart by aforementioned gears despite moving enough to be unpredictable? Are you insane? It's virtually impossible to make a machine that big, let alone based on such rudimentary technology."

Seerusly, the lore isn't about what's impossible when the ultimate threat is some evil sentient nightmare of that giant space baby from 2001, who is also somehow powering the entire planet.

Now as for the placement issues, I don't disagree with you. I think you make fine points there, and am not sure that they are at all inferior to my own thoughts! Thinking about the Garrison structures and such, I might agree that more could be constructed on the surface level. But I do maintain that the terrain of the world could be a hamper to expansion. Big mountains and such. The Arcade is already a structure with the starts of underground construction, so I don't find continued expansion in that direction unreasonable.

@all of u

i think SK HQ is in bachamel's shop and has tunnels leading to underground sections of everything with guards roaming the halls, like a subway system, it's connected to everything in haven and probably has an escape tunnel in case of emergencies, or it could be inside the auction house because why not lol
