Gunner Setup

Okay so I've been pretty bored with running Vana and what not repeatedly with the knight I recently made for Vana. I am using Chaos set, Swiftstrike Buckler, Voltedge, Blitz Needle, and Acheron on this knight... I decided I'd make a gunner setup as well on this knight centered around switch shooting alchemers, simply because I'm bored... Before ANYONE criticizes me for this, reread that statement... "Switch shooting alchemers simply because I'm bored..." ... "Because I'm bored..."

Any who... I'm not entirely sure on what armor and helmet to use with this? I started making 4 of the alchemers, cryotech, firotech, voltech, and shadowtech. Since then I've mainly used firotech and voltech. I've been using Swiftstrike Shield with them, but what armor and helmet should I use with this? I do have access to OCH, so mask of seerus is a possibility, although I do not have one at this time.

Thanks in advance. :)

try this

Try searching Google for something like "gunner loadout site:forums.spiralknights.com" (without the quotation marks). You will find many threads.

I don't know why anyone would criticize you for switch-shooting alchemers. This is a very powerful strategy, and it requires about as much skill as anything in this game. What's to criticize?

Why are you using two elemental alchemers? What if you run into a gremlin or beast? My recommendation is to carry Umbra and either Nova or Storm. I don't like Hail Driver, because on those rare occasions when it freezes, the next shot unfreezes anyway.

Keep in mind that alchemer charge attacks are very powerful. So a CTR-oriented build (Perfect Mask of Seerus, Chaos) can be really effective. But you say that you want to focus on switch-shooting. So why not go for more ASI: Nameless? Of course damage bonus is also great. Here is a good plan for you (assuming no Black Kat armor):

* Suit: Namless Poncho (ASI+2)
* Helmet: Perfect Mask (CTR+2, ASI+1)
* Shield: Swiftstrike Buckler (ASI+3)
* Perk: Swift Steps II (MSI+2)

That gives you MSI+2, ASI+6, CTR+4, and damage+0. Switch Seerus for Chaos to have MSI+2, ASI+5, CTR+4, and damage+2 instead. In the long run, your priorities should be MSI and blanket damage bonus first (because you can't get those from UVs on weapons), and then ASI and CTR second. This is what makes Black Kat ultimately so powerful.

I would say "go with what you think is best. After all, it is your preference", but you did ask for suggestions so make a choice.

Thanks

I stated not to criticize simply because I almost always have those idiots criticizing me for trying anything other than what they have... At least that's what I've dealt with. I do plan on making all of the 5* alchemers so I will have umbra in the end, I just haven't been doing anything that requires shadow damage since I decided to make alchemers. I do have all of the two star alchemers except for prismatic. I will likely go with Bopp's suggestion, thanks. ^_^

Discriminating against the

Discriminating against the almighty Nova Driver, eh?

Anyways, for your loadout, I would recommend chaos and swiftstrike. For guns, dmg > speed normally.
Seerus might be good eventually.

As a side note, I recommend alt runs if you plan to vana farm. Alt runs are 33% more efficient than solo runs, but you have to be very familiar with FSC monster mechanics.

Meh...

I like status effects so Nova Driver to me is...meh... xD (Hence why I love haze bombs. ^_^)
Chaos centers around CTR and DMG though, not the best idea for switch shooting. :)
Mind explaining alt runs? Never heard of that before. Also, I have stopped solo'ing FsC, I have been running in groups.

Status....fair enough O.o And

Status....fair enough O.o

And alt runs are basically you controlling two characters thru vana. You have your main account, and then a noob account in your party that collects loot. How it works is you kill everything with your main, and loot the stuff with your alt. Double money, 1.33 times the time. It requires two instances of SK open, but worth it if you have a goal. For everyday vana running, it works, but gets tiring quickly.

OOO has done a good job at making it difficult to alt run Vana without using a spark somewhere, but it is still possible to do it without using a spark.

Best case scenario, you have a maskeraith with cloak on both of your accounts, your main has a ctr and dmg max Blitz and CTR max Vortex and Combuster/Voltedge (Glacius doesnt do enough dmg cause of noob freeze). Alt should have fire resistant armor and a mask with cloak

According to some ancient thread, OOO is cool with alt stuff, as long as you dont macro or use a program that lets you control both chars simultaneously. Opening up 2 instances of SK is legit.

swiftstrike will give you enough asi for switch shooting, if you want more you can use a sprite perk or trinkets (you didn't mention whether those were an option or not, though)

Thanks for explaining that. ^-^ I think I'll stick to running in parties though...

@Everyone else I'll be going with the set Bopp listed... Thanks for any input. ^_^

...Back to grinding orbs... On that note could someone suggest where to go for advanced and elite orbs? Been forever since I've needed them...

This is a frequently asked question. My answer is here, including a link to Skepticraven's data thread. Lancer Knightz has recently started posting data on orbs too.

Another side note...

(There's a point to this...) Why do costumes seem so... useless... When you begin this game, then it's all people focus on at end game? XD I couldn't care less about costumes when I started and even when I got my first knight to vanguard... Now I am :|

Anyways here's my point, what armor goes best with Perfect Mask of Seerus as a costume? Almirian Crusader? Skolver Coat? Vog Cub? I'm not sure... I just don't like the look of ponchos. XD
