Having trouble with AT must

Having trouble with AT must mean you're not using it. Use it, make some other dude rage.

If we're going to take off AT

If we're going to take off AT lets take out everything else that unbalances LD, in fact lets have everyone use the Standard cobalt gear (no trinkets and UVs obviously).

@Holy Just posted a massive

@Holy Just posted a massive text wall on why AT should be removed.

A short yet effective counterargument to your post:

AT is free. All you need to do to use AT is to log on, and click a box.

Stuff that is supposedly unfair to you:
Gear that is "unbalanced" includes chaos, BK stuff, wolver lines, gunslinger lines, basically anything that buff weapons in any way.
BK stuff is ridiculously expensive. 25k E for a BKC is a very high price. But you get what you pay for.
Skolver? Chaos? 5* Stuff costs like 2k E to make, 3.5k E to buy. And honestly, that isn't much to pay as a one-time price for a good piece of gear.
Trinkets? You have to grind for the stuff to craft them. Then, for the insanely cheap price of 150 E per trinket, you can use it.
UVs? UVs take effort to get. If you buy an ASI High flourish, you paid 8k E. That is a lot of in game money. You get what you paid for.

Basically, everything except auto target reflects how much effort you put into the game. The more effort you put in, the better stuff you'll have.

If you want to do better in lockdown, start grinding vanaduke or pay money to get the stuff you want. You can't expect to bring everyone who grinded for/bought UVs and trinkets and good gear to go all the way down to your level just because you are lazy. Laziness is never a justification for anything, even in an online game.

To give a relevant example, laziness in the real world gives you bad grades, which leads to failure. Put effort into life, and you get good grades, a good job, and could even start a business. This then leads to money, which then leads to hot girls (assuming you are a guy).

In short, put some effort into getting decent UVs and gear and trinkets, and you'll see how easy it is. Just a personal recommendation, medium UVs are the best value. Spend like 2 weeks grinding vana, and you could make a nice UVed skolver set (Get some normal or shock high action going on each piece for like 3k E total), UVed weapons (some ASI medium for 2k E per weapon, then upgrade), then trinkets (easy to make, easy to maintain). Then start hitting 15k a match, and get accused of using AT, and proceed to rage. Then you will realize why AT is extremely unfair, compared to stuff such as UVs and trinkets.

Last note: ASI VH isn't always the best ;)

I am putting effort into

I am putting effort into things other than LD, like success IRL, I don't have time to grind out the perfect UVs on a set of armor. When it comes to fun PVP I'm going to stick with TF2 where the game is balanced and is successful as well as profitable. I may join LD from time to time just because I'm bored and am trying to collect some LD recipes.

That is the best part of TF2 you can jump in right now and be at no statistical disadvantage, you may suck skillwise but you know the game is balanced and fair and that if you practice even with stock items you can become a great player. An even better feature of TF2 is the Auto-balance feature though it can be troublesome it keeps teams even in terms of points; if your team is full of excellent players then AB will swap one for one of the other team's players. In SK LD it just throws you all in and says "screw you, I got my money, enjoy your P2W minigame".

I assume you have somewhat of a grasp on how mice and dots per inch work, right?
If you do, uncheck "auto target by default"...and play. It's not all about abusing game design you know.

AT serves it's purpose just

AT serves it's purpose just like being able to turn off AT. When I'm trying to lock down devilites with a Callahan or harpoon some wolvers with a Flourish I turn it on just because it makes sense to do so. When I use Pulsars, heavy swords, brandish charges, or Tortogun charges I turn off AT because it makes sense.

LD is much more different; the playstyles of everyone vary and there are situations in which AT is actually bad. The problem arises when everyone uses a certain playstyle, then everyone knows how to counter that playstyle well (and thus AT or the non use of AT becomes prevalent).

For example most people nowadays uses sword striker, but suppose you throw something at them that is nearly impossible to get a melee hit on
(a Haze/heavy sword guardian that can easily capitalize on shock/stun/freeze statused enemies), you can easily throw them for a loop especially when your teammates decide to capitalize on the Hazes and shield you are using as well.

I honestly don't care about the effectiveness of AT in LD, when it's good or bad, when people use toggle, the fact that anyone can use it, etc. It's just a factor that makes the game less about the players' skill, and I want it gone. Same with UVs.

As for making all gear the same and going to that extreme, imo that is a lazy solution. In theory all gear can be balanced so the gear you use is a playstyle choice and not simply picking the "best" gear, because there would be no "best". Plus, making all gear the same gets rid of all the different, interesting ways to play that having a variety of weapons available does. If I want to play a tanky, hard-hitting guardian, or a poky striker, or an area denial haze bomber, I can't do those things if all I have is Azure armor, a Levi, Vali and Nitro.

Also, relevant.

What about

We separate match types , so we can save the AT insults and accusing. Because when we have a normal mixed match, people who don't (or secretly do) use AT will accuse people who use AT. But when there's a match that prohibits and disables AT then we won't get these butthurt complaints whilst there's matches that allow only AT.

@ Mephisto

So long as one player has better stuff than someone else there will always be butthurt

Can't call them AT users?

Just call everyone Hammer/Polaris noobs and yell that they hacked SK so they could use AT in non AT matches.

The hate will always continue.......

Don't forget to get a Haze bomb guardian to Pocket you as well as your Pentas and ASI UVs.

Note: For those who don't know Pocketing is a term that arose in TF2 where a Medic would spend the majority of his time healing and buffing one particular teammate, as a typical Pocket Medic recipient the Heavy (AKA Slow tanky massive DPS class) would use his power and items to keep his medic safe and healthy
