It might be a bit early to ask this, but what's the verdict on the Iron Slug?
I haven't had time to test mine out yet, but it's a bit disappointing that it didn't get stun like it it had on the test server (or maybe the tooltip is wrong idk).

Iron Slug is currently the best choice for crowd damage with guns, imo. As far as charge spam goes, alch switching is probably better.
The charge attack is good. I'm not sure exactly how good we're talking about, but so far it's been comparable to a brandish charge, but normal and stun flavored.
The only reason slug isn't good is because of callahan and winter grave, which deal specialized damage. Having both of those would likely be better than just slug, but slug is definitely worthwhile now.
Another question, but does the Magnus normal bullet still derp against moving targets?
I just tried the callahan on the fsc and it works wonders agaisnt zombies but something that bugs me is that its charge attack only hit once trojans on the back.
And for worst, while the piercing not working against shields is understandable, then when i thought callahan would open new doors to the blitz meta while facing Vanaduke, I find out that charge attack only hit vana once before vanishing, if you do it at point black then it will hit up to 3 times.
I was really dissapointed with that, I hope its a bug and gets fixed, but for everything else, the new callahan is great.
The problem seen in the test server was that the Magnus line charges would act buggy with shielded enemies like Trojans, gremlins t3, and slag guards. Sometimes it would magically edge around that shield and do massive damage. It seems tbe Devs counteracted that by making Trojans "unpenetrable" by the charge (further testing needed) and vanaduke of course, like how DA charge fairs.
Other testing needs to be done for the ability to be penetrated: vana's mask, Almirian/slag guards.
Jelly (Royal) and Roarmulus (Twins) can be pierced for multi-hits.
I say the Iron Slug is preferable to specialized damage because it does that threshold thing (I think) with it's high-damage charge and deals comparable damage. Also, the easiest targets such as large constructs and undead will all be hit neutrally anyway. I could see the shadow magnii being worth the investment as well, but the Callahan falls behind with better options for specialized damage lying in the new Antigua, blasters, and buffed(!) blitz.
does the stun make it anywhere near competetive with callahan? I thought the problem with Iron Slug was mediocre damage for no real reason...
Single shot damage is still mediocre, but stun is a go on regular shots! Had an interesting time in SL Snarb with it. Very brandish. Helps land charge shots, manage turrets while throwing in fps DPS from other weapon slots. Maybe I should argue iron slug best value for the cost, and only needs one slot in the inventory while leaving the other one/two for coverage and utility guns. I fully intend to own all the guns, but that takes more time than one gun.
the new magnus charge is pretty much a small antigua bird
tried callahan in a 2 person party at (d21?) in a graveyard, it takes more than half the zombies health
and unlike the birds, it doesnt break as easily
@Dakonya
Well it's meant to deal crowd control, not just bust up everything ever.
It does do stun now. The charge kills lumbers quickly, and it works great with vortex bombs (as does Callahan)
