Discussion regarding how to deal with outdated damage values.

To fellow editors,

I was in the midst of blanking out all the damage tables that have been invalidated by release# 2014-12-03 when it occured to me that it might be a better idea to add a disclaimer to the page instead. (See http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Pulsar)

This way, other users can at least use the old values to roughly estimate the weapon's effectiveness instead of having totally nothing to work with.

So, what's your call?
1) Remove all the outdated values?
OR
2) Add a "temporary" disclaimer to outdated pages until we can get our hands on the new data.

Serious answers pls. (so pls provide an explaination for your choice)

Although its normally used for images, I would use {{Needs updating|Damage values were updated and these numbers no longer reflect current values.}}

Leave the numbers there, but put a disclaimer saying that the page is being updated to reflect the new release.

Notice that this applies not just to damage numbers, but to various aspects of guns: movement speed while charging, maybe range?, etc.

I just made this page to set up the updated damage charts for comparison. Specifically with the pulsars, I would like to update an entire chart at once [so that it isnt a mix of old/new values]. The rest are mostly checking if the damage changed. I'll be adding/deleting charts as I compare making notes on the top based upon how the new guns compare to old numbers.

1) Since there are no objections to using the "disclaimer" method, I shall be going around updating the affected weapons tonight. (using the "need updating" template skepti suggested. )

2) Ack abt the damage tables. I might be able to help with the "blaster" line. Will help fill in the values as I acquire them.

3) And we still need to go update the new gun mechanics.....
so many things to do........ :-(

Yes, there is a lot to do. But keep in mind that this is all Three Rings' job. You're donating your labor for free to this profit-making company. So edit the wiki only insofar as you enjoy it. :)
