I made a post but it got moved to bug report even though I had a bug post over there about it.

This post is to try and see if others are experiencing the same issue.

Have you been able to find the same recipe more than once? Some people said it could be Basil timer for doing the same gate, but I was just curious if some of you wouldn't mind paying attention to the recipes you bought previously and see if you come across them again.

UPDATE:

I think we got it figured out roughly. There is a timer on new recipes bought from Basil, and each Basil ( T1, T2, and T3) has independent timers it seems. Been running with 2 alts as control elements for the testing and got a lot of feedback from friends to help confirm it. Not sure how long the timer is but it seem to be less than 24 hours but more than 2 hours, can't narrow it down due to all the luck involved in finding the same recipes again ( extra variable we can't control). Having the recipe in your possession or not wasn't the factor, we just had to wait for the timer to expire before the char was able to see it again.

So again thanks for all the feedback.

TL;DR There is a hidden timer for basil recipes based on Tier level.

yes

Yes, this showed up in another thread. I can't find it right now. Some thread arguing about whether having these new recipes be Basil-only was a good idea.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Well, I think some of them should be in HoH, while others should be Basil-only.

That being said, they're probably running an experiment right now.

you mean when you find/buy

you mean when you find/buy the recipe you won't see it again?

well i'm only looking for a riftlocker now (found the 4*) so i could keep an eye out.

also, i don't get the thoughts about some of the things put into this game the recent months...

lockbox (pay to get) only weapons? now non boss token items being basil only recipes? ok it makes the arcade actualy needed... but still (the boss guns got an update too... so i don't see why everything needs to be basil only)

obvious is obvious

If the new weapon is part of a Basil only family (pulsars/antiguas for example) they could be made as Basil only recipes.

Some could be handed out in another way such as token trade in (Krogmo for example even though I hate PVP)

The rest would be HOH recipes (blasters for example)

@ Kickthebucket

@ Kickthebucket yesterday I was having an issue of not seeing some of the recipes my group members were seeing, so we would reach the same basil together and they would see recipes that I can't see. After having them list the recipes it turned out that those were the recipes that I had already purchased from Basil in previous runs and sold on the AH.

After further testing it seem like the issue happens with the same gate basil if your levels didn't change/rotate. So if you switch gates/level of basil (t1, t2,t3) instead of farming the same one, it doesn't seem to happen so far.

Meh

Personally I like the basil only route... It gives me something to play for and discover. I've been playing the same gate exclusively and getting a varied set of recipes every time, but honestly with all of the variations on the armors there are a *ton* of recipes in the game now. Without understanding the algorithm for how Basils recipes are selected it may be reasonable to not get the same ones very often. Say for example if there is a subroutine that restricts the number of a certain item -- say you only get one of the new armors or helms -- you would only have a 2% chance or so to see the same one again.

But I'll keep an eye out (even though I'm only looking for a couple specific sets)...

EDIT: sorry I mean there is a ~ 2% chance that you'll see a specific recipe in the example that there is one (and only) guaranteed new armor or helm per basil visit. (this is an unrealistic example of course but I'm just trying to illustrate some of the math involved before someone goes and error checks me haha) The chance that you'll see the same one in two runs is of course lower, and the more runs you perform the more likely it is.

So Vtmoon, it sounds like an

So Vtmoon, it sounds like an intentional feature? It certainly sounds helpful: it allows you to reduce the pool of recipes Basil provides by buying the recipes and selling them, then next time you visit there's a higher chance for the recipes you want to show up.

Unless its just a post-reduction, where each time you visit you just see less and less recipes, that'd be a pain, but it would stop recipe sellers from flooding the market with the same recipes (not that that's a problem... But now the highly demanded Twisted recipes aren't getting Amy easier to obtain >.<;)

can't buy the same recipe at the same day, if that's what you're asking. Unless you play another character.

Thanks again for people who helped me figure what was going on with this one. I haven't tested old basil recipes cause I didn't want to invest the money in that but can confirm the timer for the new recipes.

I was thinking it's much simpler than that. (Since I am lazy) Try different date on PST (the server time, 11:00 pm & 12:00 am for example), though it will be kind of hard to find the same recipe in short time.
