Gunners are probably going to use one of the new specialized blasters. Sworders and Bombers are either going to keep using Polaris, or use the Elemental blaster. If anyone still wants to use a normal gun, the Iron Slug is now probably the best normal weapon in the game. Maybe they should just remove the Valiance.
Is Valiance obsolete now?

Valiance is much cheaper than going for some combination of arcana, phantonomo or raftwalker, and without going for a combination, about as good as any one of those alone. You don't usually go out and attempt to murder everything with valiance, you sneak in shots, use it to hit switches, use it to strafe about occasionally... if you don't plan to use guns on that run as your main line of offense, valiance is still a great option, especially early on when you don't have the resources to craft three separate guns, just to be that much more optimal.
I don't see many people becoming excited about it, simply due to how plain it is, but it's still very much a perfectly good option.

Valiance is still the best mobile, normal-damage sidearm. In fact it's the only mobile, normal-damage sidearm. Slug is immobile and Pepperbox isn't a sidearm. If you don't like switching weapons often, or are in a level with many monster families like a Compound, Normal dmg is your best bet and Valiance is the way to go.

The only place I bring Valiance is in wolver den, why? Coz sometimes, lumber spawn in the den... and oh yeah... I use it during caketastrophy event.

Funny you say that, cause I had just crafted the Blaster into Master Blaster before the update, and had I known what was coming, I would've have gone for the piercing blaster xD
But still, if you don't have a Blitz Needle, and don't want to bother getting one, the Valiance is still pretty good for Vana.
They shouldn't remove it, per se. I mean, there are many other items in the game (whole swathes of armor, such as Azure Guardian) that are more outclassed than Valiance is. Removing it certainly isn't a high priority.
I agree that Valiance has less reason for existence than it used to. It used to be that, to get the Valiance style/mechanics, you had to go with normal damage. But now you can get that easy play and knockback in any damage type you want. Three Rings' new attitude of "every damage type in every style" (or close to it) could really hurt normal weapons' popularity.
By the way, not all sworders use Polaris. Many use Argent. I advise them to use Storm/Nova Driver in my sword guide.
