As you all know, the gunner update gives MSI while charging and attacking, and for guns that have to stop to shoot, recovery is faster. In addition, magnus line charge now pierces which is better than the explosion it used to do for crowds of enemies but seems either one is good against 1 enemy. Charge attack bullet speed is decreased however, but you don't fall down when you use the charge anymore. Is the maguns now worth using concerning the fact that the damag wasn't increased. Do the improvements make up for the no damage increase?

Iron Slug is probably one of my new favorite guns.
If you haven't tried it, fire a charge shot into a giant lichen colony.

to clarify
To clarify, the gunner update doesn't include any weapons or armor that offer MSI. Rather, the update removes the movement penalty while charging a gun. It lets you move at regular speed while charging. It doesn't let you move faster than regular speed while charging.
To address your question, people in other threads have expressed a lot of interest in Iron Slug. I'm not quite sure why they don't want Callahan and Winter Grave. Maybe they just want one gun.

Probably because Iron Slug's a better FSC gun. Trojans/Vanaduke stop the bullet so there's little advantage to using Callahan's charge over Blitz, and with Slug you can still deal with the wheel throwers/slimes/flamethrowers if the rest of your loadout's already filled with Blitz/support bombs.
There's also the underdog aspect, with Iron Slug being considered a joke weapon for pretty much the entire history of the game. If Three Rings ever revamped Winmillion or Hunting Blade to be on par with Khorovod there'd be a lot of people running out to get those, too.
Earlier today a friend asked me to accompany them on an FSC run, and I brought the Mega Magnus I was heating along. I was one-shotting slags pretty much any time there was enough space for them to get pushed by the bullet. I managed to blast a zombie clear across the totem room in Charred Courtyard, diagonally. That's with DMG Ultra, neutral affinity on a partialy heated 4* gun. The damage/knockback on the charge is obscene. It's Sudaruska But a Gun now, and if you aren't familiar with how good Suda is against big clumps of melee enemies: extremely good.
