"Trident" section of a level that is not on a path leading to the elevator
Are these new or was I not paying attention?
I don't think those are new, but good job (if it's your first time) finding them.
Just wondering, what is you spiral knights resolution? I ask because of the dilemma here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/106636
The graveyard thing is not new as of the gunner update. But it is rare, and I'm not sure when it was introduced, because I have seen it so seldom.
The trident thing is extremely common. You're saying that it's weird to have it on a side path? Sorry, but I doubt that. Such levels are laid out randomly. The randomness could be constrained so that tridents are always on the path between elevators. But I don't see why Three Rings would go to that effort, and I doubt that they have.
Happy travels.
I've only ever seen the trident thing on the correct path. Like 80% of the time it's placed as a "mini-boss room" at either the beginning or end of a level. But you know there are those certain tiles where you can usually guess that that path leads to treasure instead of the elevator? The one with the 4 respawning crystal block fields and the spike plates and the 3 treasure boxes in the top, the one with the two platforms with large spike plates on them and a horizontal bridge in between with a red/green switch floating on an island between them, the large S-curve one with a million turrets on it, etc. I thought the Trident was one of the opposite ones; if you see it you're going the right way.
Well, you could be right. Certainly there are some room elements where you can guess which way out leads to the elevator. Almost all of the time, it's the one in the opposite east-west direction from which you came. For example, if the entry was in the west end of the level, then the exit will be in the east end. That's a heuristic that I use, and it's usually right.
But would Three Rings take the time to alter the constraints on its Clockwork Tunnels random generator, with all of this other stuff going on?
about the problem in post 2, should Faeyd just play fullscreen 1600 x 900?
The trident section (if you are referring to the part you are closest to on the map) has always been there! You gotta go in like a counterclockwise fashion, and open switches, and then rek the stuff in the middle
Not sure about the graveyard tho
