Drop a bomb and then launch a magnus charge at what you catch, Maximized DPS and is far safer than using a brandish charge (enemies can still attack in the vortex).
Enjoy.

Considering you hit multiple enemies (plus usually deal stun) this tactic is made for dealing crowd damage/status. And if you happen to nail one dead on that enemy will take the chain knockback/damage now typical to Magnus and Brandish weapons.
Obviously you wouldn't use a vortex/magnus combo when there is just one enemy, you would just use the magnus to clean up.
Has nobody ever tried any vortex bomb + FOV charge? that will most likely obliterate anything trapped in the bomb's radius of effect.
FoV and Caliburs work moderately well with EV. There are a couple of problems, though.
FYI I am not discounting the other weapon combos in the game, I am merely pointing out that this is a new one that arose due to the mechanic changes brought about in the GU.
you can use the vortex and stand in the middle of it with FoV charged, then watch an entire pack of zombies getting erased
You can use a vortex to group a huge number of enemies, and then hit them up with big angry bomb to fruitlessly spread them out again while your team mates try to attack the now empty location with iron slug and combuster.
I'm not sure you can detonate a BAB before your allies kill what you catch or the vortex slings them away.
Perhaps with a EV and a Nitronome but I'm not sure an EV/BAB combo would work.
...but if the new charge goes through enemies and hits multiple times, won't it only hit the crowd once or twice, unlike the Brandish Effect™©? Wouldn't the knockback be too much for the vortex?
