I expected this update to provide an elegant compromise to the dilemma of ragecrafting, with 1* variants of armor, players would still have to spend energy to ragecraft, but at a reduced cost(10E per) compared to the two star variants(50E per).
However, ooo has yet again proven its ability to make bad choices, forcing people to buy the one star, AND craft it to two stars for a chance at variants, essentially slapping another 3k cr price tag on the crafting cost for the armor set with the most alchemy paths.

Trolled.

So what is your problem? you don't want to buy the 1* armor from the vendors or you just wanted to be able to ragecraft the 1*?

Rage crafting was never a good thing to start with. Merely a privilege for those with paid accounts which was never explicitly implemented or advertised.

Buying uvs is always cheaper

Buying uvs is always cheaper than rolling or crafting yourself. In fact, those who pay to ragecraft usually lose money because its essentially gambling. And more people ragecrafting means cheaper uvs, and cheaper items on the auction house.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Well, I think they wanted it like this. It means you have to think a little more before deciding if you want to buy them. It also gives the merchants in Bazaar a use. (Aside from taking your junk.)

3Kcr is tiny compared to the

3Kcr is tiny compared to the overall costs in crafting something up to 5*. If you plan to craft and sell, then clearly all you need to do is add an extra 3K onto your sale price. If anything is 'broken' with this, it's that the Bazaar NPC sells 2* parts for 7500cr, potentially out-competing crafting and therefore missing out on 2* orb sales.

Apparently i need to make it

Apparently i need to make it clear that this is entirely in the context of crafting for uvs, sure 3k is negligible when crafting to 5*, but when you want to craft numerous 2* variants thats a significant increase in cost.
If people can't craft the one star variant, their is not reason whatsoever in forcing people to buy them from vendors. And If they want people to buy from the vendors, make the vendors have desirable prices, don't force the players into doing so.

Unless you mean you throw

Unless you mean you throw your failed crafts into the NPC trashcan instead of the AH, then it doesn't matter. For all intents and purposes the 2* Pathfinder, Sentinel and Shade gear now has a craft cost of 3400 crowns.
If you dump your reject Magic cloaks on the AH for 4000cr, now you will be dumping your reject Shade helms for 7333cr. You pass most of the costs on to the buyer like you always did. No-one can work around the Padded tax so buyers will just have to put with the new stuff costing a bit more than everything else.

le anecdotal fallacy face

Just because you craft the 3 star variants doesn't mean everyone does. Most people just ragecraft the lowest star variant, elspecially since they removed mist.

Also, the point i'm trying to make here is that padded armor serves no purpose other than an additional tax on the players if they force you to buy it from greave instead of making it craftable.

Well you'd be wrong. It does serve other purposes, like as a crown sink, and also gives a tier 1 entry point to gun armor lines while also serving to stem the ragecrafting community by steepening the price of crafting 2 star gear, as people in this thread have mentioned. This promotes Punching this armor line.

That assumes anyone will actually want to roll UVs on an armor that is outclassed offensively by several others in many different ways and isn't particularly strong defensively either.

-So you're saying gambling (wasting) crowns on punch is a good thing?
-Crown sinks are meant for high level players, not beginners.
-Also, how many times do i have to make it clear that ragecrafting isn't a bad thing? It allows for more uvs on the market and a cheaper, more reliable alternative to punch, and doesn't unfairly benefit one group of players.

They want you to play the game, not play the economy

It's a perfectly viable system as is. It promotes making the armor for yourself rather than to sell. It makes you play the game rather than just play the market.

Essentially, it makes UVs more unique on these armors.

I couldn't help laughing for real. But you have a good point. Some of these armors do look awesome, and they come in every color!

Ragecrafting isn't a bad thing, no. However, the more people Punch armor, the less crowns are in circulation and thus the lower energy prices.
