Questionable Gremlin Behavior

Why do gremlins lock themselves up in Decon zones? Especially since the same keys get destroyed just to open a tiny treasure room? And why do gremlin scorchers run away at the first sign of violence; they always go hide in corners and pitifully stop attacking; even the Darkfang scorchers! Also why can't menders rev knockers? Just imagine a compound style level in the CW with the sole enemy of hundred's of tiny gremlin knockers.

I will note that all "locked up" gremlins in decon zones have the key inside with them. They sure seem like they are more "locking out" stuff than "locking in" themselves.

also, imagine if you are fighting someone, and its quite literally the enemy bringing an ak-47 to a fistfight In terms of how strong you are, you are almost dead, what do you do?
also, if you have a flamethrower and they have a sword, you need to be farther away to safely cremate them while theyre still alive
