We are making a page for our SK limerick competition entries and winners, but I don't see an appropriate category to attach the page to. I see Fan Art and Event categories but no Fan Fiction or Fan Prose categories. A Fan Prose category would be great to include entries from our beastly limerick competition and our upcoming haiku competition.

Thanks,
Raspberry and TheBadger

Eh

The beauty of a wiki is you can make your own :O
You can even call it "X's prose competition June 2011"

About weather it is advisable to have such stuff on a wiki or not, I guess it's Equinox decision, but there are already a bunch of such categories and no complain about it, so I guess it's okay.

If you even wanted to you

If you even wanted to you could record the entire competition's worth in a page-or-so. The wiki is for the community by the community.

Simply have a look at one of the current templates (like this one!) and copy paste the code with new flavor text on a new template page to create a new one easily.

We've even got the Showhide Template so long scripts can be recorded without breaking the page.

Thank you

Thank you for your comments, guys.

We wouldn't think that it would be much of an issue since Nick approves of the competition.

We did not want to publish the entries on a free site (which would be easier to html) mainly because we don't trust the scam and porn java advertisements that tend to pop-up on such free sites. We also did not want to publish entries on our blog so we can remain anonymous.

Since the SK Wiki GM can somewhat control malicious editting or editting wars, I'd rather keep the entries for the SK community on the Wiki where it is safer from not so wholesome ads.

Since we are not fluent on Wiki code, we are going to borrow a template format and enter individual entries in the Content thingy. We even created a fun desktop wallpaper and will create a wallpaper for the winning entry.

Best regards,
Raspberry and Thebadger

Thebadger coded the limerick competition page on his own user page for now. We will see about getting it published in a category once the judging is over and we make a new wallpaper illustrating the winner's limerick.

This is how the A Beastly Limerick Competition June 2011 looks so far:

This is the best Thebadger could do at the moment since he is not familiar with the SK Wiki conventions.

- You can just go with

- You can just go with [[Category:Player-run events]] at the end of the page. You definitely do not need your own category for a single page.

- The draft looks fine, but I wouldn't have the non-entry be highlighted with its own higher level header like that because it detracts from the importance of the eligible player entries (you could just include it in the list of normal entries, but put (not eligible) in the header of the spoiler after the name). You can just move it to "A Beastly Limerick Competition (June 2011)" (or if you think there will not be another event run with the exact same name, just "A Beastly Limerick Competition" would be fine as well.

Thank you

Will do, Equinox.

We won't have another beast limerick competition but maybe focus on a holiday or another monster/boss theme as far as limerick competition goes.

We are doing Gremlin Haiku next and hereby give fair warning of an October Impostocube Cosplay Pageant (for pets, plushies and people...maybe even pumpkins).
