In Spiral Knights, Winterfest has brought, once again, a bunch of reskinned costumes. Ones I'll never buy. Recently, after a very long wait, we got a bunch of reskinned guns, although some were buffed to an extent which made them more than totally awesome. They got a few new mechanics, which was cool. Sadly, whenever I log in, only a few of my friends are in my guild, and I can't find many people who want to join. I really wish there was a good reason to join guilds, then this problem wouldn't be so bad!
In Elsword, their unnamed winter event has brought, once again, a bunch of new costumes. Ones I'll never buy. Recently, they've released a new class for Ara, but they added Ara not too long ago! In addition, the Korean version is going to get two characters in one, an absolutely new mechanic which none of the other characters/enemies posses. That character will probably hit NA shores before too long. Although they did add a somewhat grindy professions system recently, I think it will be cool because it will bind people together and give a real gameplay reason for guilds.
Where are the differences?
(Disclaimer: No, I'm not leaving Spiral Knights. Yes, I still love the game. But I'm not lying on any of these things!)
that the guns are pretty much nothing new in terms of game mechanics, and the new gun mechanics, while "new", aren't made to be interesting, they are made to be the default, and as such aren't as great as, say, making the mixmaster available for everyone, releasing a rocket launcher, or any new weapon with a gimmick, really.
