Hi, I quit about a year ago. I'm not really sure, but I'm in the right order of magnitude; if it wasn't a year it was a few months more. Has anything changed? Last time I played, OOO was just reskinning costumes and making DLCash. For free we had danger missions with creepers. Oh, and they actually went through with pets.
Has anything changed?

To answer the question that you're really asking: There have been no major developments since the 2013-07-30 mega-update, which completely altered how the game works (and incidentally introduced battle sprites).

I remember you faintly.
if you quitted right before the sprite update, the changes are sprite update, new pickups, and gunner update. you may also find some wierd weaonry around, including tortodrone guns&shields, the mixmaster, and some reskins.

But yeah. Like those guys up there ^^^ said, nothing too game changing has happened since. Although recently they did finally unleash the long awaited Gunner Update upon the masses.

Not bad. The latter probably put the CE price up some though, but that's fair considering it makes the game more f2p. That's not much though considering how long I was out, but that isn't my problem since I wasn't here.
I still don't think I'm into the crafting mechanicss we had upon me quitting, and I'd love an alternative to pets aside from "don't use them," but I'll get on again sometime. I'll probably use an alt with a comedically obvious alias since I'm such a celebrity, but feel free to add me if you see me ladies.

You seem to really dislike sprites, but you haven't explained anything about why you dislike them.
Assuming that you are truly a veteran player with tons of extra materials and minerals sitting around, leveling a sprite is pretty easy. Even if you have no interest in using the sprite's abilities, the perk is still valuable. It's basically a free trinket slot with a variety of free trinkets for you to put in that slot.

I like games that do alot
I like games that do a lot without many buttons as opposed to the typical full-keyboard MMOs, my main isssue with sprites is a matter of styling. I'd rather feel more like an independent than a control center, it's more immersive. Not to mention how odd it seems for everyone to have one when pets are typically their own classpath. "If everyone has superpowers, noone has superpowers," etc. The passive perks are a nice alternative to getting UVs though.

Gunner Update. DLC can be bought with CE. Reskin weapons, special events (Apocrea, updated Kat, Tortodrones) with unique event equips (Obsidian, Torto-), unique PRIZE BOX equipments, and moar.
