We come to a planet, murder some of its citizens for money, yet we are honorable knights?

We kill thousounds of gremlins, and think... JUST THINK... some are left orphans! Imagine a baby gremlin asking his mother, "Where's daddy?"
How does a mother react to that???
By saying, "The mean knights... they... took his life... ;-;"
Think how the youngster would feel???

Someone, please explain!

Honestly... We're the monsters.

Wat

Gremlins, as theorized, are automatically sent out to fight at a certain age. (Knockers)
We really aren't monsters for killing monsters that design traps to impale us, incinerate, explode, combust (list goes on).
They are naturally malice and we actually harbor gremlins as friends too I.E Emberlight , or Nora the pet pockets clerk.
We didn't come to this planet with bad intentions to kill species or intelligent life forms ( We wanted to take all the energy like insatiable pigs ;) )
Plus, could this be a troll post XD?

This is a SPACE NARWHAL ON A POGO STICK free zone!

They're actually abandon by their mothers and put under the care of Impostoclaus, who's actually an imposter. They get presents from the people who killed their parents and learn to trust them. When they grow up they help the knights kill more gremlin daddies who's child are soon abandon by their mothers and thus the cycle continues.

Knights are evil, they kill innocent Pit Bosses like me and thus leave poor devilites without jobs. They become homeless, needing of a job, but they can't get one because the Knights killed all the Pit Bosses in the area. They can't travel to another city to get another job because most cities will take too long to go to and they'll become a Gorgo before they reach there.

On the subject of us slaying Emberlight parents...

But Emberlight may have existed for several generations, which means the present-day orphans had peaceful parents! ....Wait, how do pacifists die before their children mature? Is their some sort of deadly Gremlin EbolAIDSaria going around that we don't know about?

Well, people can die in a list of ways:

The emberlight parents get killed by a psycho named Tinkinzar.

Though, who told us to fight gremlins? Other knights (npcs)? Why? Cause they attacked an alien coming to their planet? Wouldn't you be afraid if someone came out of space? Wouldn't you fight if they had weapons and were killing peaceful jelly creatures?

This is *NOT* a troll post. Seriously, we're monsters.

(Okay, maybe it is, *a little*

All the weapons and more are used in self defense.

Why? Walk into clockworks and see if nothing is hostile/violent with nothing equipped that can cause harm. Btw we want to leave this planet. Have you forgotten your duty, soldier?!?

The obvious response however is "This is a vidya game."

We know that the Gremlins are evil. Or at least, the Crimson Order is evil.

In Operation: Crimson Hammer, upon rescuing a jailed Gremlin, the prisoner says something about how "Seerus is crazy!".
And let's not forget the Roarmulas Twins.
The constructs are thought to be created by the Gremlins, so we can assume they are tools of evil as well.

The Devilites are known to be evil, or at least oppressive.
They are known for using black magic and summon Fiends from the nether realm to do their bidding.
For this reason, we can assume Fiends are evil as well.

The Undead may be a neutral party, as they only seem to appear in places where you would expect to see dead things. While they may have been reanimated by an evil force, I think they are kinda too sad (and maybe hungry) to really be called "evil".

Beasts and Slimes are not evil in the slightest. They are simply creatures defending their home.
Of course, like humans, we kill them for their resources.
Wolver clones, I'm looking at you.

TV Tropes noted this.
"Alien Invasion: Strangely enough, it is actually the Spiral Knights themselves who are invading the Cradle. After the Skylark crash landed on Cradle the Spiral Knights started to occupy the various levels of the planet. The natives don't seem to mind, however, cuz the Strangers like money and the gremlins (generally) are Always Chaotic Evil."

Then again, considering the Gremlins like to design traps to kill them, it really doesn't seem likely the Spiral Knights are the real monsters.

WAIT!!! Nick's the monster.

"They're actually abandon by their mothers and put under the care of Impostoclaus, who's actually an imposter." Nick was Impostoclaus and he left. That means noone is caring for the children. (Thanks NICK!)
/shakes head and thinks, he knows I'm a furry and that I don't want family services coming around.
Don't think for one minute that I'm caring for baby gremlins so you better kill them or they will die a long slow death of starvation and hypothermia.

We're the "bad guys." But there's an even more evil side to the equation. The Swarm is full-on destructive, for one. And we just want to leave. On the Skylark. That crashed.

What is the swarm?

Since when is it "full-on destructive"?
We don't even know what it is. The only thing we've fought is swarm seed. (And maybe the void enemies, but are they swarm...?)

With that logic, talking about the lore of the game in general would be considered trolling.

There is nothing wrong with the topic.

We've had this topic before some place.. but OK.

The knights have proven that they only attack hostile monsters, as we have a good many monsters living in Haven and acting as NPCs. In the arcade, the bulk of all life forms attack us, and the entire thing is built as a gauntlet and death trap by an evil mastermind. Unfortunately, we don't have much choice but to kill anything and everything that is put in our way.

Similarly, the Skylark was shot down out of the sky, and wasn't ever there to invade or even to cause much trouble. The knights needed energy from the core, but they had no way of knowing whether that energy was just undiscovered, or for sale or anything. To know that, they would have had to land on the planet's surface and see what's up.

Gremlins = Nooblords

If those Gremlins didn't want to die they should have bought some Sparks of Life.
And Shadow resistant armor.
