Paying Someone's Energy Tab? I smell a scheme...

I'm a relatively new player and I went on my very first Arcade run with a group. One of the players didn't speak, but instead only spammed the same message near the elevators, suggesting someone pick up his tab. He would not trade for crowns or say anything else except his set "Please pay my elevator tab mext to my name" suggestion. I waited for a long time for him to at least give in and instead I grew impatient and decided to give in.

For a first run, that's a bad impression and would rather players NOT be able to descend into the Clockworks if they don't have the Energy for it and essentially force other players into paying a tab just because they've already spent their Energy. If it persists, I'm just going to quit and that'll be that. Perhaps by letting individuals up and leaving those with no Energy? It's just not worth the crowns or my time to just give Energy (to people who may very well have enough Energy and are just not paying!)

energy tab

If the circle and arrow is red, they have less than 10 energy total.

If it is yellow, they have at least 10 energy total.

I have been kicked out of a party multiple times for not paying the leader's tab. It's ridiculous because my party members are usually decent and the leader sucks and he's trying to force us to pay for his revives. I suggest adding a leader kick option if all the party members agree(excluding the leader). If your party leader kicks you, you go into a queue mode and you can make a poll to kick the party leader in case he/she abuses his powers without you knowing.

Abuse of power

Wow I wasn't aware that this was an issue, I guess I have been lucky enough to avoid jerks like that. I think the ability to vote out the leader of a party would be a good way to prevent this from happening. I never expected people would abuse there power like that but with the current system I can see how this would be a problem.

Press F6, click Go Solo,

Press F6, click Go Solo, there, your problem solved, ANNOYING BEGGAR ANNIHILATED
Also, about vote kicking the leader, thats a really dumb idea. Its the leader's party; don't like it? Go Solo. I'd be really annoyed if some random pubbers managed to kick me off just for fun.

You're probably one of those jerks. How do you think a party member would feel if a party leader randomly kicks you? And you join a party for a reason: to go with other players into the Clockworks. Don't give me bull about going solo because if I wanted to go solo I would have in the first place. You're also the dumb one so please look at it from someone else's perspective before you decide to make a comment that is not a solution but just makes the problem worse.

Quite predictable for you to target my "attitude" since you provoked me. But guess what, I can also be immature and say you're wrong and I'm right so ha. :P

I pretty much always start my own parties after this happened to me once. Wasted my time and the leader wouldn't kick the beggar. I'd have gone solo but then I would've lost all the heat I just spent CE to acquire.

This does need a fix of some sort though I'm against a "kick leader option." I'd suggest something like a "go down without party" option if you're at an elevator, kinda like what you get at the elevator between tiers, but available at all elevators. You get to keep the heat you earned. The party breaks up but at least you don't have your heat held hostage by a beggar. And if a leader asks you, you can just go down before he has a chance to kick you.

@mital

That would be good but what if I want to go deeper with a select group of people in the party? I think there should be a feature that allows you to invite a party member or two down into the next floor with you. They can obviously decline if they don't want to. Thank you for your constructive criticism instead of calling the idea "dumb" and not backing yourself up.

There is

There is already a function in the towns to invite people in your party to go on with you when you choose to go forward without the whole group. Therefore this would probably be a lot easier to implement.

True but I'm pretty sure it only works for your friends/guild mates.

The elevators in Moorcraft Manor and Emberlight have that function already. If you run ahead of your party to that elevator in the back of either city it gives you a pop-up that lets you check the names of party members you want to invite to the next depth with you. If you check no names you can go on by yourself. If they added the same option to all elevators that you get at the Emberlight and Moorcraft Manor elevators it'd fix the problem.

Maybe there's a technical hurdle to implementing it across all elevators. I wouldn't know about that, but it seems like it should be doable.

/edit: forgot to mention. You can invite people who are not on your friend list or in your guild into your party as long as you know their name. When you're in the clockwork you go to the party tab, select invite, and type in a name. I invited someone in a pick up group down to me after our leader stopped responding.

They should make it so you

They should make it so you can only add people to your tab if they can't afford the next elevator fee. Alternatively, a warning should pop up if you try to add such a person to your tab telling you that the person has more than 10 energy and can afford the next elevator fee. That should solve the problem.

Why don't you just call a GM?

Why don't you just call a GM? I can't imagine they'd tolerate this sort of behaviour. If you go solo, you loose your heat. This a the kind of harassment that cannot be solved by ignoring a player, so I guess the staff should be happy to intervene.
