Read the title. How do you do it?

Merchants keep giving me the run-around saying clean no UV ones are worth 40-45KE, and I tell they can mix themselves.
"It's worth that much because people are willing to pay that much."

Something's wrong when you cant offer someone 15-20KE for a single no UV Overpriced Messmaster.

I don't think they're worth that much yet, but they are getting more scarce. 15-20k might be too low since they used to sell for 2 million in AH (25k going by 8000 cr/100E).

All for a buggy overpowered weapon.

It's worth that much because

It's worth that much because people are willing to pay that much.

This is pretty much the definition of a free market.

nah

Wait for the next Confection promotion, or hope OOO fixes the only thing which makes the weapon noteworthy (its bugged ability to shoot through walls). Or hope someone likes your face and feels generous.

If people are willing to pay exorbitant prices for a limited supply item, why should the supplier settle for less? That's just basic supply and demand at work. Just because you personally don't feel like paying up doesn't mean the suppliers have to undersell themselves.

Because I've been trying to

Because I've been trying to convert back to Free 2 Play without bankrupting myself over stupidly bugged 5% gamble gear boxes with the tag of "limited time only new weapon" as it's selling feature.

I absolutely refused to buy the box it first appeared in, because this is exactly what the game has come to at one point. OOO went there, releasing new content via random chance paywalls. And now that I want to try the new content, I'm met with unlikely odds of either paying an arm for virtual content and/or waiting at their own expense at releasing a ludicrously priced in game version in some Supply Depot sale in the future maybe*.

People who spend their money that high are only making it worse and justifying what OOO did in the name of profit.

It's all fine and dandy as long as I extort 100's of dollars of virtual currency out the next mindless player who's curiosity is willing to pay for broken game elements. "buying energy supports the game, Paintool... it's a free market, Paintool... I don't have to respect anyone."

OOO doesn't respect you if they can release something like this. And if you respect yourself not to gamble for 5% broken gear, you shouldn't either.

"It's worth that much because people are willing to pay that much."

Completely agree here. There's absolutely no justification of "Well people are paying so-and-so for this item, so it must be this much. Anything below is stoopid" as prices change and are completely random. Mixmaster is no exception to this rule, I'd say just keep trying and hope for the best.

"OOO doesn't respect you if they can release something like this."

I find this a wrong view of it. After looking into the gaming industry and hoping to one day follow my dream into it, saying that they "don't respect you" is far from off. I've said some bad things about Three Rings myself and I realize it was unfair to force such a bad opinion on them. Three Rings respects and cares a lot more than what most people imagine about the community. Most developers who have made crazy questionable changes care a lot more than what people think.

The Mixmaster is no exception to this rule, I believe it was a good attempt at adding something unique into Prize Boxes but what happens is that unlike a Single Player experience, once something is done in an MMO, it's set in stone and cannot be undone without a rewind which if I recall, Three Rings is highly against.

So be fair to them a bit more and don't just say they "don't care" because they do and always will until the game is gone. Remember too, for something that's constantly evolving: Job first, fun second.

There is no such thing as a bad opinion, Glacies.

And think of it this way, if three rings released it as an easily obtainable weapon, in the broken state it is currently, people would seriously question OOO implementing it.

If its broken, it doesn't matter how many people have it.

Paintool, are you mad at Three Rings, or are you mad at other players? The original post seems to be about other players, but your follow-up in post #5 seems to be about Three Rings.

My response in post #2 was about other players, of course. I was not commenting on Three Rings' policy, because that didn't seem to be your complaint.

The problem is, a merchant rips off one rich guy who has more dollars than cents, and then claims that price to be the "new price" and nobody will sell it for anything under that.
Just like how when people won't sell items for less than the "Buy Now" price on the Auctions, which is clearly flawed since if they were to put it up on Auction, (1) They would have to wait for a buyer to see their auction, as opposed to this hypothetical situation where they already have a buyer, (2) If they sold it at that price on the Auction House, they'd be getting 10% less than marked due to fees, so the face-to-face buyer is doing them a favour, and (3) The reason item X is still on the Auction House with buyout price Y is because buyout price Y is too high for anyone to care for. If price Y was reasonable, it would have sold already. (This could not be more true for accessories, which seldom have buyout prices less than double what the item's bid usually reaches before the item ends.)

then don't buy it

Just like how when people won't sell items for less than the "Buy Now" price on the Auctions, which is clearly flawed...

Yes, it is unreasonable for sellers to insist on the Buy Now price when selling items outside the Auction House. One Buy Now price does not necessarily indicate the current market price.

But I still don't see the problem. If a seller is demanding a higher price than you are willing to pay, then don't pay. Let the seller sit on his un-sellable inventory for a while, until he lowers his price.

It's reasonable to complain about Three Rings' policy of selling non-cosmetic (in fact, overpowered) virtual goods for real money. So far, I have not seen any reasonable complaint in this thread about how players are conducting themselves. It's not a crime for sellers to ask too much or buyers to offer too little. That's just how the market behaves as it is settling on a price.

Lol, it's worth a massive amount because it's not only the best, but limited in quantity as well.

It needs to be fixed and then made freely available, but I've spoken my bit on it and I'm sure you've read it if you care to.

my 2 cents

I sold one 34k ce about 1 month ago

http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/105845

(its bugged ability to shoot through walls)

Even if it shoots through wall, it's a terrible gun that is inconsistent at shooting through walls, can hardly have the two bullets go through and let alone, hit a single target with it and the terrible bullet hitbox (that's combined with other terrible hitbox from SK) then the gun makes it for quite a rage show from time to time in PvE. You often fail to hit a mob in direct from of you, you need to move so that the bullet trajectory change so it properly hits... (what a feature...)

I don't know it's utility in PvP, all I know is that 34k ce in my pocket is more useful than that gun who can bug RT floor and open treasure boxes you never get cause nobody pays 3 ce for a non-arena door
