Assuming 9 minutes per match+waiting time and loss every time, you'll spend 90 minutes getting 10 coins, i.e. 1½ hours. Maths aren't that hard, you should try them sometime ;)

Your problem is probably the time it takes to find a match. The obvious alternative to this might seem like making a non-PvP method of obtaining coins, but that would decrease the number of PvP players and thus make it even harder for people who want to play that mode.
