Many people have suggested SK comes to 3DS or Consoles, but really there's no chance, what with weaker hardware or different coding languages and whatnot preventing people on PC playing with those from the proposed port, so here's my idea: A spinoff game or multiple if the first goes well
This would be singleplayer, probably, but multiplayer features could possibly be put in. I mean hell, a handheld version of blast network where you get unique things to send to the PC version would be enough, but my idea would possibly bring more people in.
The game would have a branching storyline from the main game. Perhaps have it to do with other members of the Crimson Order, or even something different altogether. Maybe a small establishment is under a huge siege from an army of constructs, and it could be a tower defense or castle defense (I believe that's the genre where it's like tower defense but you control a character instead of towers?) and the further you get into a wave the better you rewards are. It could go from a few materials to accessories, orbs, crystals, maybe even a costume, perhaps even weapons. I'm sure it's not just me who'd totally pay money for a game where after completing say 50 rounds you get one of the exaust pipes of a construct to swing around as a weapon, even if it's just a reskin.
This would also bring in a lot of options the main game couldn't have. Perhaps even (prepare for best idea never) a chess game, but with the Knights. It could be some tournament of chess where two knights compete in chess, but the pieces are based off of different roles in the universe. A striker instead of knight, guardian instead of rook, recon scout instead of pawn, etc. It'd be sweet to have a badge with a chess piece (But SKfied obviously) on it that I could put on my favourite armour and go "Look, I played a 3DS game about spiral knights chess for a few hours and got a badge!"
What would be especially cool is a game that played like spiral knights with randomly generating rooms, different armour pieces and whatnot but singleplayer and possibly easier to get things in. Then there would be some kind of technology in the lab or something that would let you send your stuff into the game. This form's probably my favourite as, even though some features would be stripped down obviously, it would get new players interested in the game if they saw and played it and would also get good items but, like OCH, they wouldn't be too OP as they'd need significant work to get.
Also we could get a story about owlites
Sorry if this is worded badly, I'm not good at writing.
but seriously I would pay money even for something where you just mine in the clockworks or something if it gave the opportunity to get orbs easier
