''to get some good dmg''

Might want to suggest that you learn that damage isn't everything. It's just an epitome of competition.
Instead of aiming for damage, I'd say to:
1. Practise your aim against moving enemies.
2. Improve survivability and dodging skills by doing the Gauntlet several times.
3. Try to cap and help team mates capture points.
4. Be aware that dying can put you at a disadvantage at times.

First just spectate a lot of

First just spectate a lot of matches.

The next thing to do is to play Guardian, it's a rather laid back class and being the team healer/tank gives you time to observe strategies.

Then play recon to understand how a good one plays (so you can counter them later).

Finally just play LD, lots of LD.

First of all don't use Auto

First of all don't use Auto Target.

2nd, you have to learn the basics of LD, i'm not really good at teaching so i'll let someone else explain those better, all I can tell you is to Hit n' Shield, not just button mash the Attack button as that makes you reaally predictable and gives a playstyle that just won't work.
Then it's just practice, playing LD for a while makes you better.

IMO, getting better at Lockdown is all about observation and adapting. Unless you have one of those uber connections, a single strategy will only get you so far.
I mainly use swords, so these are tips for swordsmen:

1. Start off with a style that you feel is most comfortable and easy to pull off.

2. If somebody repeatedly kills you, try to recall how they did it. How did they outmaneuver you? Most people just get frustrated and complain about speed/AT. However, if you stay calm and observant, you should notice patterns and nuances to almost every player's style.
3. When you see that person again, recall past experiences and change your movements just enough to counter theirs. If you fail, think about what mistakes you made.

4. Unless you have an uber connection, playing defensively is almost always better than playing aggressively. Let the enemy come to you. This eliminates the need to track your own trajectory relative to the opponents, greatly improves your timing. If you have a gun, it's even better because you can harass them until they respond.
5. Never do combos with guns. Combo with Hammer only if you're pretty darn sure it will land. Combo with Archeron to buy yourself time by plowing a breathing space through enemies. Be prepared to dash/hop away after every sword combo.

6. When in a fight, don't hesitate to retreat whenever your health runs below 50%. Unless you are really close to killing your opponent or capturing a point, escaping alive is better than dying and forcing the other guy to heal.
7. What usually happens is the enemy aggressively chases you thinking you will die in one it. You can then turn around and catch them off guard.

8. If you care about winning other than damage, holding and taking points is more valuable than chasing a guy and killing him.

Lockdown basics are just another form of ABC:

ALWAYS
BE
CANCELLING

Seriously, the #1 thing you need to learn is to shield cancel. Other than that, others have given pretty decent advice.
