I made this just for a conversation to get goin about this, but 1 question: Is it good?
Ive noticed that if you want to be a gunner, than Chaos is a better choice because gns already have a fast enough attack speed right?

You can always use more ASI.

Yes, Perfect Mask of Seerus is good. It gives you +3 worth of gun bonuses and very useful status resistances. The status resistances make it generally more useful than the new gunner armors, which also give you +3 worth of gun bonuses (or +4, but family-specific) but which have status penalties.

PMoS could be made stronger by changing the ASI or CTR to blanket damage bonus. But I don't think that it needs to be stronger.

Other peeps are still invited but...

Ive noticed that the Chaos (not gonna bring that up again), JUST THE STATS, it seems CTR and DMG is alot better than when I get a ASI of Ultra (Swiftstrike bucker with both Fallen armors). Like, on Blackhawk, there isn't much difference, and the little difference isnt so useful. Whilst the dmg is actually noticable (50 points of dmg). Isnt the only reason to use it for the status resists and the high(kind of) defence?

It is very nice.

If you don't like getting lit on fire for long periods of time or need something to dampen those Shocks while still providing a good offensive boost then yes.

Believe me when I saw that taking only a few seconds if fire is a life saver, (It also makes FOV charges more Spammable).

I prefer PMoS over Chaos Cowl because as a gunner with 1-bar connection, it provides better defenses that Chaos, not to mention Max! Fire and shock, and only med penalties to Freeze and Poison. The increased CTR and ASI means I can get off more charged Magnus and Alchemer shots quicker and recover faster, which do enough damage to the point that further damage bonuses, although useful, aren't really needed.

For me, PMoS is superior to Chaos, as I rank status resistance more important than weapon bonuses. I trade Med universal damage and CTR for low Gun ASI, med Gun CTR, an extra bar of Normal and elemental defense, +6 bars of Fire and Shock resist, and +2 bars of Curse resist.
Sure, it might take an extra shot or two to kill an enemy, but I have greatly reduced chances of being burnt or electrocuted alive, better chances of resisting a curse, and I have a sturdy helm to protect my head against Gremlin hammers instead of a hood with a metal band on it.
The 1* and 3* versions of the mask simply blow every other helm with the same * rating out of the water due to the number of bonuses, and the same status resists as the Perfect variant, not to mention high damage protections against both normal and elemental.

However, in the end, it boils down to personal preference, and I prefer the reliable iron musket that is the PMoS (and its incomplete versions) over the fragile glass cannon that is the Chaos Cowl.

Well lets see....

  • Best elemental armor stats = same elemental as grey feather, same normal as vog; both of these are the high value for class armors
  • Handgun stats comparable to those on chaos = +3; chaos gives +4
  • Resists what are arguably the most important status effects = fire and shock
  • Weak to status effects that are poorly resisted = poison and freeze; neither are usually as big a deal
  • It's considerably better than "good"-- even if you're not a gunner, the defenses alone are literally unparalleled. Seerus is easily one of the most significant armor pieces in the game, provided you have any interest in using handguns at all... if you pair it with chaos, it sorts out all of chaos's defensive penalties and sets you up with maxed out handgun charge time reduction, while chaos, trinkets and your sprite perk enable you to use other weapons and gear effectively as well as handguns.

What's better: Dealing ~8% more damage and charging ~8% faster on swords/bombs, or attacking 4% faster on handguns and being able to tank more than 1-2 hits from fire/shock attacks? Full chaos is good, but Seerus offers safety without really destroying that.

    Sooooo....

Seerus with a Chaos cloak is kind of a good gunner set? Or universal (Hybrid) set?

    yes

Yes. Why wouldn't it be? It has lots of offense and okay (but not great) fire-shock defense.
