Best all-purpose layout?
I've been playing SK for a bit, and I think I'm at the point where I know what I want to specialize in. (Swords)
With that being said, I'm wondering what would the ideal layout be for handling any and every situation? Right now, I'm thinking..
Shadow Damage: Gran Faust
Elemental Damage: Glacius
Piercing Damage: Barbarous Thorn Blade (I chose this over one over the Fearless Rigadoon for the projectile charge attack)
Helm/Armor: Vog Cub Cap/Coat
Shield: Not really sure about this one, most likely gonna go with the Grey Owlite Shield.
Also, I may get a 4th slot and equip a Normal-type weapon, like a Leviathan or something. Any suggestions/comments?
I use Acheron, Cold Iron Vanquisher, Divine Avenger, Magma Driver/Ash of Agni, full set of Volcanic Salamander armor, Aegis. Literally nothing has ever given me an issue.

Volcanic Demo Helm
Vog Cub Coat/Skolver Coat
Grey Owlite
Divine Avenger
Shivermist Buster/Ash of Agni
Hail/Storm/Firo Driver
Gran Faust/Acheron/Leviathan Blade
Shadow Def trinket
Trinket of your choice to cover other weakness
I imagine an all-rounder set might look something like this; if you were wealthy you could get high/ultra/max UVs on the gear as well to cover deficiencies. But the name of the game is to min-max for the strata you're on, so you'd probably be better off investing in something more specific.

@Dirt
Have you visited the d28 full shock gate arena? It's really fun. You should try it with that gear you have.

Isn't Barbarous Thorn Shield better choice for dedicated swordsman then Owlite Shield?
Ooh, good layouts. Dirt, can I ask why you chose the Cold Iron Vanquisher over the Leviathan? I was thinking of getting a Levi
If you are sure you won't need to deflect elemental damage, sure, it would be better. It breaks really fast when you get hit with elemental damage, IIRC 2 hits from mecha knights in tier3 and your shield is broken.
My loadout is currently
Skolver set
Barbarous Thorn Shield
Best piercing trinket (until i get shadow and elemental ones)
Wpn. 1: Silent Nightblade
Wpn. 2: Barbarous Thorn Blade
Wpn. 3: Magma Driver
My brother runs with:
Shadow --Acheron
Piercing --Flourish-Barbarous or Flamberge
Elemental--Storm Driver
(FreeSlot)--Usually puts either an item he's building up or Shivermist
Storm Driver gives a range attack as well as deals with the often slow moving but hard hitting Undead and Constructs.
Shivermist gives some much appreciated crowd control, but there's nothing stopping you from swapping in a Combuster or Divine Avenger. Also depending on preference, the Gran Faust could easily replace the Acheron.
I don't run with this setup, as I'm a bomber (and generally dislike swords anyhow), but if i were to go Suicide Jockey, this is the setup I'd take.
My sword set for T2 JK runs, every single one has a purpose too make a monster shell out a yellow star.
final flourish
Glacius
Divine Avenger
Acheron
If you want a gun then you can replace either the divine avenger or the glacius because both shell out the same types of damages. My gun is the argent peacemaker. I would pick divine avenger if you want a gun keep because it is best used against constructs.
For T3 firestorm citadel I recommend having argent peacemaker divine avenger, levithian blade, that's all you really need but you might want to bring a final flourish or a bomb (preferably ice) as an extra.
armor:I have grey feather armor set (you should go with the vog but this is my personal style)and the grey owlite shield.
You might want a gun (so you don't go insane fetching pots when you need to hit distant switches), or a bomb (you can deal with Trojans by planting a bomb in front of it, then circling around so its back is now facing the bomb as it detonates). The Shivermist Buster bomb can freeze enemies to the floor so you can whomp them with a charged sword attack. (The blast radius on that bomb line is pretty tiny and awful until it gets to 5*. But it becomes huge and amazing at that point.)
The Gran Faust is very slow, and can Curse the wielder on its charged attack, locking some of your weapons (which can include the Gran Faust itself). If you're not comfortable with this, you can try the Nightblade --> Acheron.
