players now completey relying on blasters shots taking over 40% of your health then fight you with swords. i find that kind of fighting very boring. already i cant control valiance very well also i cant dodge it. also with the new phantamos shadow dmg 3hits enough to take away 70% of my health, ppl without trinkets 3hits enough to kill them. almost everyone now had a blaster wep many ppl in one game most of them using valiance or it skins that is the true spam i would perfer antigua cancels to that >.<. i know im complaining about that also i know i cant change the fact that ppl will keep using valiance but i would like to hear your opinion about this topic.
thanks for reading.
i feel like valiance (and it skins) become an annoying wep on LD
Use whatever works for you, it's all fair. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I rely on shock ( as a lot of you already know ) and I'm okay with that, the game's okay with that and it works for me. If other players want to use/rely on blasters, the game's okay with it so it's just easier to accept things as they are and just not worry about it. The game's more fun that way.
Just my opinion -
If you want advice against them, close the distance, if they run, try not to chase unless you're certain you can land a hit otherwise you'd just be losing health for no reason.
One of the easiest ways to dela with people who use a lot of guns is to predict their movements. Usually you'll find that thye move in quite predictable patterns. For example, one of the most common patterns is that they move in a large circle around a point, trying to get you to just follow them in that circle. Instead of following them, cut the circle and move to where they're going to be so you can smack them in the face.
@Mengh True easy to evade until the moment when the player get mad and starts to at shoot you while you have no guns and a even greater issue with frame-rate
The new ways player fight have become cheaper and cheaper as times goes on,but then again nothing is wrong with that (even if it gets boring)
he he I always keep chasing gunners and lose my health for no reason as an said but I can't ignore fights easily.
well I usually use guns when I fight gunner(polaris) and follow them in their circles but with the new gunner update and this inscrease movement while gunning some of my hit gone without hiring its become harder to chase a gunner but not impossible and if that blaster user experienced with swords it will be very hard to deal with.
heh irill can you say something truly helpful for meh.
would like to hear more advise. :3
also thx meep and van for advises.
You don't have to take them head on as a striker (duh).
As a guardian you can rely on smart teammates to take out those blaster spammers while you provide them with a mobile safe zone. Recons can often sneak up on players and you most certainly don't have to rely on the deathmark but if you like you can mark them and watch as your teammates shred them.
As a guardian be sure to pocket the best player on your team that actually sticks with you. Try to provide cover to them and they will stick with you, noobs will follow you around and provide a distraction, as a guardian you aren't too mobile but you can use your jumpdash to get near a gunner and DA/GF combo them before they can react (try to get them as they reload).
Recons are the sneaky class, deathmark alerts scare players and they will try to hunt you down, if you get hit by a stray bullet change your direction as they will head to where they saw you last and attack where they think you are. If you time your mark radar right you can get in close before they notice you and get a DA/GF combo. Being invisible lets you observe a player for a while as they try to find you, learn their pattern and punish then when you can with DA/GF/BTB/FF swipes. Bombs are your friend, they can create temporary no-go zones and can help your sword pin them against walls and traps.
thx holy-nightmare :P since im suck using recon i was look for some simple tips for using but no one before give me something really useful :D thx again.
Try carbine or AP being scattered everywhere. Throws any prediction skills out the window.
Recons always move first, consider being spotted your first move. Often when someone spots a recon they will rush over with a sword. Wait till the right moment and take a swipe at them as they rush right into the swing, if you think you can get away with it go for a combo with a heavy sword.
If they keep shooting show yourself for a bit walking away, they may assume your shield is gone and rush at you. You can then cloak and then change direction. Change direction AFTER CLOAKING. If they don't draw a sword and chase after you, you can still double back and get beside or behind them to shoot them with a Storm/Volt Driver (to try to shock them so you can close in safer), or surprise them with a good sword swipe/combo.
short answer: play smarter, not harder
long answer: you can't really say that blaster lines are an issue when you openly state that you have a hard time "ignoring fights" when you should given the circumstances
What can you do about it? Nothing.
My best suggestion is to fight fire with fire: Get one yourself.
I said I can't handle vali with AT or without it my hit don't reach any target
I think going to do as rete said
also thanks holy nightmare I figure out my own recon play style I can catch blasters gunners more easier with it.
when you think about it, when strikers use a vali, you have to know who can actually use it and hit you. rete ^ prime example uses his vali and can actually hit you. v rare you can find someone with actual good aim. now recons/guardians different story. Dutch hit like 15k as a guardian gunner with only two vali's. and ezho gunning is a crutch, when you shoot, lead the person on. soooo good luck with that.
wait aren't you that guy that just spams pola? if you are, I couldn't care less about your vali problems ^^
every player that is used to LD uses it because probably when they were noobs they didnt have trinkets wep slots so the blaster killed them in 3 shots
1. charge the blaster and if you see anyone just shoot them and change your wep to barbarous thorn blade
2. use your blaster when your striker energy is down then wait till it comes op
3. mostly used in 1v1s i guess or any 2v2 tournaments
4. mostly recammended if you use striker because while your striker energy is down use the blaster to shoot them and 3 secs later striker energy is back run to them while they health are low and attack with GF or BTB to finish them off
its not bother me anymore I really do learn so fast ATM out SK for a while to take my skills down heh being pro is the worse
The blast is not such a problem in itself. It is a problem when it is combined with the BKC which confers a ridiculous gunning offense without handicapping the sword strength.
^ whoa this guy actually understands the problems LD has. I didn't know people who think universal DI Max is OP still exist! :00
this is probably what OOO thoght about the gunner update:
OOO: hmm valiance is bad so lets make some FUCKING OP SHADOW ONES!
LD PLAYERS: gonna be op
ME: nothing

hi, just watching forums even though I'm not an active player anymore.
- This is pretty funny, coming from someone who played in the days when people thought Striker with GF + FF were the only options.
- If you're fighting an AT gunner (stands still to shoot), they can only shoot towards the angle where you are when the bullet comes out, so strafe them to dodge - moving directly towards them will just get you hit.
- If you're fighting someone who's actually aiming, it boils down to your movements and their prediction/ability to leadshoot through latency (--> this is what skill boils down to, aside from technical ability).
As a recon gunner, I'd say a good majority of my hits come from knowing common patterns when a striker is approaching you, because if you know their goal location, you can drop bullets to block their movement. It's a lot tougher to hit someone who's running away or doing movements that don't have a clear direction/timing.
As someone who commonly uses Arcana as my main sidearm (or sometimes just by itself lol), just like to say that it can be surprisingly easy to dodge if you can figure out the pattern they shoot with, or just really change up your movements like Tenkii said. One tip for fighting against AT gunners is just having the lower ground, and shooting at them from there or approaching from the bottom too.
Also, heya Tenkii, been too long :D
i said before its not bothering me anymore i mastered blaster gunning and dodge as well.
in the end i just play few LD games and i felt like they are no meaning for playing when you become pro and no one can kill you thats th worse i dont know how you can stand that guys but i dont to be strong i like the feeling when you kill a pro with your poor skills that why now i rarely play SK i need to get rekt :D
and bye XD
^_-
The most annoying weapon in LD is chat. Thankfully I have a weapon designed specifically for countering that.
True. A lot of people nowadays use the blaster line weapons to chip off a lot of health points however there are different ways to overcome it.
1) Be unpredictable.
This should just be quite easy. Wonky / unusual movements = more unpredictable and so you'll possibly suffer from less blaster shots.
2) Have a gun.
If you aren't able to attack gunners easily, then it'll be sort of tricky to melee kill them for you. So, just get a gun and try to copy the movements of the gunner.
3) Stall.
Yeah... If you don't really want to deal with gunners and their twisty movements, just stall whilst capturing the point. No need to kill anyone.
Even as a bomber, I'd say that blaster shots are the least of my worries due to the fact that their animation and attack isn't really annoying if you know how to fight against one.
