What if Eternal Orbs of Alchemy were Rarer than Radiants?

Imagine: Radiants are back to their good old drop rate and we can't seem to get rid of em.
But now eternal orbs of alchemy are super rare to come by. As in they only even have a chance at depth 25 and below.

Let me tell you why this would be a good thing.
Suddenly people at endgame are more likely to buy energy for the 5* gear (which is 800E and more pricey than SD Radiants) but it's the exact same amount of Energy that the old game costs. Plus in the long run everyone would be saving money over time to extend into crafting new gear and what not instead of complaining about not being able to heat their 5* gear.

Now you can spend all that extra time and money gambling your money away at the clear as day broken UV rolling system that favors even rarer, more random odds of "leveling up" gear at your expense.

Are there any upsides, downsides to this exchange of 5* endgame rarities?

:/

Trust me, even if devs removed eternal orbs completely and give players a 'gimme 800 CE so you can get 5*' while having the old rad drop rate, that would still be a better system than it is today.

But the system will be broken MDJ :(

How so? You can pay and get to the vanguard rank quickly or invest time like the rest of us, a little bit P2W elements sometimes can work wonder.

1 thread a day about radiants, ey Paintool?

I wonder how many radiants you could have gotten playing the game instead of making all these forum threads. That gives me an idea to put together a bunch of numbers [such as average words per minute, farming rates, ect] and math to say things like...

You just wasted 1.38 radiants typing that post.

@Skeptic

Hey, not all of us can play all day you know, sometimes we need to take breaks from farming and in my case, I an prohibited from installing SK to even play it. And pfft, 1.38 radiants, you sure rounded off that one, it is not like a radiant crystal made of binary digit mean anything IRL, you and I need to get out door and do something real, like seriously...

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

it would shorten the 4* period a lot. and I mean a lot.
with the time you spent grinding gor radiants, you would get crowns, which you could spend buying orbs in the depot. implementing this system means that the only real hurdle of 5* would be the first weapon you get, after that it would be all smooth sailing.
OOO seriosly needs to rethink the forge to balance out the grind throughout the experience rather than making peoplearriving at 3* before presenting them with the problem.

I'm an artist Skeptic, and I

I'm an artist Skeptic, and I mean no offense, but the game is cutting too much time in my life between Uni, work, and creating something positive I can share with other people. I like the old game a little in that grinding to get your gear to the final 5* level did take time, but it was time worth the effort; once you got there, there was no difference in heating them as before and you could max it out. (needs more heat yes, but still. cookie crumbs that lead mice to a goal works better on the psyche than having a mouse push a lever 100 times and "maybe" it might get food.)

So when I say I've got better things to do than bothering with the continuing endgame or anyone else doing so, I really do have better things to do than wasting 4300 hours on a game that has an easy fix but won't be. (It's been adjusted before, so what's the hold up?... and ultra poison barriers and turret kits while you're at it)

I'd rather make my own game if I knew how.
I've got my own story to tell.
SK is a comedy of error; I like the art direction and ideas, but the management is what's really keeping it back.
And that's not going to change no matter how much time or money you give them.

Back to my times people payed in raw energy for crafting. Nobody complained about drop rates.
Lol as for me orbs can even not loot if this means higher rates for radiants.

@Paintool: technically, the

@Paintool: technically, the mice working forward mentality applies, even in the current game. It's just a matter of perspective, try viewing Rads as if they were orbs.

Focus on amassing Cr to buy them from the Supply Depot and treat the Rads you find like a kind a bunch of bonus Rads.

Basically, treat Rads as if they were Elite orbs.

I'm not afraid to admit that I've bought just as many Rads as I have found, even with the extravagant energy prices. Cuts down the time compared to solely focusing on finding Rads by around 40%. Sure I'm broke pretty much 75% of the time, but I get what I need in the end.

It doesn't make sense to give people the fire crystals prior to the actual gear they need to heat is the only thing. Congrats! Now you can heat your 5* gear that you haven't been able to afford yet! What would make sense would be either the obvious fix of just making the crystals more common, or swapping around the prices in the supply depot.

If radiant fire crystals cost 800 energy for 500 (or if heating cost 1/10th the crystals) then even I would be buying them up. In fact, I think that alone would be the best solution, given all the information.

Even a slight price change to

Even a slight price change to 700 energy for 100 crystals would be enough.

@Almond-Riddle

But that's not "slight", that's a whole 50% off.
