make red boxes often spawn rarities.

and by that I mean 50/75%. it would seriously boost rarity drops. I know that probably RNG would make orb drops spawn like nothing else, but I think it's not a problem for anyone who hasn't OCD on inventory slots.
based on skeptic's data (hey, that's a whole load of numbers!) red boxes have a ~15% chance of spawning instead of green boxes (check box totals and your calculator for more accurate answers) and a whole load more on treasure vaults. now this could seriously fix any problems with finding rarities, since you find them so often, it would be just a matter of time. reasonable amounts of time, not radiants right now.

There are 3 classes of spawnable boxes: Green, Red, or (1/31 chance Red, 30/31 chance Green).
I use arenas for the chances of red/green, because I am certain that a red or green box can spawn in any one of the 31 boxes.
A characteristic "certain" red or green box is the final depth of danger prestige missions, where there is an easily identifiable pattern to where they are placed. Most of the "certain" boxes are behind energy gates, as danger rooms consist of 4 chance boxes and 8 red boxes.

That being said, your suggested change would buff shadow lairs and boss depths the most since they contain certain red boxes.
I'm not in favor of buffing missions as they get extremely repetitive and boring.

How about make a new type of box, the 'purple box' or something, that ONLY spawns in the arcade, that has a high(er) chance of rarities.

didn't think of that. BUT! I can salvage (steal) darklordskull fix here and make this:
make a new type of box, the gold box, that can spawn in place of any box. this box will contain only rarities. this could replace the red box replacing green box mechanic, and red boxes could only be found in the places skeptic said, but that would require some tweaking in box spawning on OOO behalf, or making prices of non-boss token things a bit lower (since tokens would become rarer), so I think it's better to put it on top of the current box spawning mechanics.

I find it amusing how the color suggestions are gold+purple. Why not make it a large purple+gold treasure box too?

There are a couple level types that only exist in the arcade [currently], such as Arenas, Treasure Vaults, and a couple other lesser known depths. More interestingly, some aspects of depth types are exclusively arcade too - like danger rooms and event rooms. These would be good places to put said box.

I'd like to point out that SK is a f2p, and a really great one at that. i think its nice that rarities appear in boxes at all, they could make it exclusive to the supply depot. and well this gold or purple box sounds like a fun idea, in order for it to work with OOO or whoever, it would have to be ridiculously rare

They need to earn money somewhere, so let them have their rarity. One thing people over-look alot is that with orbs crafting is actually cheaper than the old days (since the orbs cost the same energy in supply depot as the energy for crafting costed but orbs can be found in depth.

I don't mind orbs right now, but I'd like to boost rarity drops slightly, so that the system is slightly better than the pervious one for the player. because this system is better for the player, but for veterans i doesn't feel better at all.

yes, it's surely 100% more than 0. but I think they give you enough 2* orbs at the beginning to craft some gear to do some JK to get ce to get more equipment to do vana to get more ce. so the problem solves itself when you start doing T3.

Until 3*/4* it's easy. From then on you just have to bash. Bash!
