Sorry to post yet another question(s) of the CE market prices, so I will graveyard this soon.

My primary question is, has the game now "evolved" to the point that 8,000+ crs is going to be the standard?

I could always anticipate a fluctuation from around the 7,000 mark, but since August 2014 (if I recall correctly), it
keeps getting bounced back up to 8,000+ whenever it drops. (If it falls under 8,000 that lasts only for a day at most.)
I believed the standard of CE was around 7,000 and have "boycotted" the market since 8.2014.
I have stuff I want to heat and can't get the radiants if I continue to refuse to purchase.
Now my game play is becoming quite boring, only collecting more and more crs because I am not willing to pay what I THOUGHT were exorbitant prices.

Do others feel that that this is just a long "temporary"?
Am I wrong that the standard should be 7,000 crs.?
Is there some (lol) conspiracy to keep it "artificially " high?

This is not a complaint; if it 8,000 crs from now on, so be it; np. But I am wondering (not asking) if I should give in and start buying.
Overall, however, I am a bit frustrated that players seem to keep it high. Don't they realize lower CE prices are best for all.

Up to you

There was a time when the standard was 6k, and before that it was 5k. But while the price has fluctuated, the general trend is up. So to answer your question, I think the CE prices will be 8k or thereabouts for a longgg time until something drastic like a massive update happens to make people want to buy CE.

As to what you should do, that depends on your goal. If you think you won't be playing SK for long after you've gotten what you want, then just go ahead and buy the CE now and spend away, because it's going to be a while. But if you think you're going to play for a longgg time and you can wait, then it might be better to wait for prices to drop.

Ultimately though, it is a game, and games are about having fun. So I say just spend the crowns to progress through the game so you can get out of the rut and start having fun again. Me personally, I refuse to buy fire crystals with CE for any reason :P.

Meep.

Energy prices always depend on the supply and demand. If there's a bigger supply, that person would be of more power to create certain walls that keep the price of energy the same (if they're the cheapest) until other people start undercutting and it does have some affect with people buying energy. This creates competition and can make others undercut offers so that their energy sells the fastest, by being the cheapest.

That's why prices fluctuate.
If there was not really any supply and a much higher demand, the price of energy would be higher, as people would be wanting to buy energy if they were desperate even at high prices (supply depot man...)

Many factors can affect this. Such as flash sales, where people will need to convert crowns into energy in order to buy items before the hour is gone, or special featured auctions in the auction house or price spikes/rage buying, made by people who just want to sell/buy energy quick and easily.

But in these current times, people have stopped buying energy regularly due to there being no incentive and it just being energy without the boxes. Plus, it's better to buy TF2 keys, then just trade them for energy (if you've got steam.)
