Introduction:

I've been seeing alot of people whether it be on the forums or inside of the game ask for advice/training in Lockdown just because they feel as if they are not satisfactory or sufficient enough with their performance in Lockdown most of the time when they play. And since I've had my fair share of teaching techniques and strategies to others already I figured I would do this. Make a thread explaining to people that I will train them from here on out everything I know in sessions for them for a rate.

Breakdown:

Basically what I mean by this is I'll offer timed sessions for Crowns. In these sessions I'll teach you everything I know within the world of a Striker.

Swordplay, gunplay, bombplay, mixing it with offense, mixing it with defense, the many variations of the two, using different controls to achieve amazing heights with the two, timing properly (covers movement patterns to help with timing, timing attacks in general i.e. stunlocking or widestepping), aiming properly (without AT, covers charge attacks and normal attacks), dealing with statuses (covers you using them and others using them), using range to your advantage, fighting with latency issues, fighting with graphical lag issues, tactics and strategies to help out your team in general during balanced matches, tactics and strategies for carrying a team in general on an unbalanced match and etc.

Rates:

Key: SESSION TIME/COST

Sexy 30 min. free trial/nothing
30 min. session/9,000 Crowns (half an hour)
60 min. session/15,000 Crowns (an hour)
90 min. session/19,000 Crowns (an hour and a half)

Notes:

•If you wish to have a session then private message me or mail me in-game telling me that you would like to have a session.
•Transactions are dealt with through trade or mail and are done before we start training.
•I will refund you the amount of minutes we didn't actually train if something ruins the session.
•If you have to go or if I have to go then we'll pause the session and I'll give you back the amount of Crowns that the rest of the session would require.
•After a session has been paused we will resume when we're both ready and allow a transaction to happen right beforehand.
•I may not want to teach you if you are an impatient individual. If we get off on the wrong foot I will give you a full on refund.
•I don't have a mic so I can't teach verbally at the moment.
•An individual can only have a maxium of 90 min./day.
•An individual can only have one free trial. (obviously)
•Session time is only affected by the time of Lockdown matches. (not delays)
•If you have any problems state them to me in this thread or private message/mail me.

Conclusion:

This is for patient and willfull people that want to learn about mastering Striker in Lockdown. If you are not one of those people then maybe this isn't for you as it will require you to be patient and also require you to be willing to put the work in. If you want me to teach you just private message me in-game or send me mail in-game telling me that you would like a session. I'll send you a friend request after that and once we're both online we can get started. If you have any questions put them below.

P.S. Drop the idea of any and all of this if your ping sucks.

Nothing personal Pawsmack, but I find the notion of selling Lockdown training pretty ridiculous.
It's not like real life where someone can help you train. At the end of the day, it's still you in front on your own computer pressing buttons telling someone else how to push their buttons. Anything you can teach them in game can be summarized in a paragraph on the forums. Someone who would give crowns for advice is either pretty darn rich or pretty darn stupid.

"Nothing personal Pawsmack, but I find the notion of selling Lockdown training pretty ridiculous."

No problem man. I guess it can come across that way at first glance anyway.

"It's not like real life where someone can help you train. At the end of the day, it's still you in front on your own computer pressing buttons telling someone else how to push their buttons."

In real life if you were to professionally train a person you would get paid actual currency. Not saying that I'm professionally training anyone in Spiral Knights or anything, but I am training them and teaching them a veterans knowledge nevertheless and taking time out of my day just for them. I should at least receive some type of revenue in return. It's not like you're paying actual currency for my training and teaching. You're just paying the games form of currency which is actually pretty easy to come by.

"Anything you can teach them in game can be summarized in a paragraph on the forums."

It would definitely take more than just a single paragraph to sum up all of this accurately:

"Swordplay, gunplay, bombplay, mixing it with offense, mixing it with defense, the many variations of the two, using different controls to achieve amazing heights with the two, timing properly (covers movement patterns to help with timing, timing attacks in general i.e. stunlocking or widestepping), aiming properly (without AT, covers charge attacks and normal attacks), dealing with statuses (covers you using them and others using them), using range to your advantage, fighting with latency issues, fighting with graphical lag issues, tactics and strategies to help out your team in general during balanced matches, tactics and strategies for carrying a team in general on an unbalanced match and etc."

Not to mention that there's a huge difference between leaving a bunch of words on a screen and leaving an individual to interpret it on their own and actually giving an individual a much more hands-on approach with demonstrations and actual practice.

"Someone who would give crowns for advice is either pretty darn rich or pretty darn stupid."

It's not just advice. It's me actually taking them into Lockdown and showing them how to apply all of this stuff. I personally would say that it's worth it to drop a few Crowns so you can learn the guidelines and more of Striker combat and strategies within Lockdown.

Why don't you try to learn about mastering striker in lockdown before trying to teach anyone?

Dang bae... That's hurtful. ;c Excuse my wording there if it really bothers you though. I literally just kinda whipped up the final paragraph.

For strikers only ? You

For strikers only ? You trying to pick a fight ? huh? HUH?! Teach some recons and guards too m8.

Okay now to be a bit more serious. So I kinda looked over your main post and you're generally focusing on teaching how lockdown works rather than how to play it (with some techniques thrown in). If that's the aim then I can support the idea however most of the information is already lying around on the forums.

Blackdive and I would like to join in on that group session, if it's ok with you gents! Looks like you'd need some people to fill up the teams anyway.

How will this be set up? I'm assuming it's rld but are you gonna be on the same team or is it more of a 1v1 training thing

@Duskfinder

It's more of a 1v1 type of thing. Usually practice on inanimate objects first and then an actual 1v1 showing just how it would go in a normal fight. That's how I've been teaching people in the past anyway.

You guys are being a bit ridiculous. The matter doesn't really deal with you so stop picking on him. If anyone wants to pay him for lessons, let them. If not, then whatever. There's no harm done to the community.

paw just wants to share his knowledge with new players to the game so no need to be rude. we know there are better players but did any of you offer to train random strangers? regardless, i think trainng could be a good idea considering the fact that the LD comunity needs somd new strong players. it'd be cool to see a few naturals emerge from this training and join tourneys and rankings :D
idk just my thoughts.

Strikers only :( I think guardians and recons will learn a few tips when fighting against strikers. Lets not forget that strikers also have to fight guardians and recons in RLD, GvG, 1v1 etc
