I think the reason for the shortened Apocrea event is because of the new Missions Three Rings has been revealing to us. It would be weird to have an Apocrea event and a new set of missions going on at the same time. Players will struggle to decide what to do: Apocrea or the new Missions? Thus, it leads me to believe we'll be seeing these new missions very soon.

Exactly what flowchart said, if they really did shorten it to make room for the new missions it would only be justified if they released the missions the day it ended

Perhaps they had a set release day they wanted to release new content, and a two week Apocrea would mess it up, as they probably will take advantage of the new content to add more promo stuff.

They still could have had Apocrea for two weeks. The new missions aren't out yet.
