Ok, so I know that this sounds like a really stupid choice, but I only have enough kat tribe fetish for 1 of these, and I really want the black kat seraphynx, but I need a 5 star helmet... Which one of these should I craft? Also, if anyone knows of a good way to OBTAIN kat tribe fetish, please let me know as well!

As strange as it sounds, the 3* black kat cowl is the best option for you in terms of usage. If that isn't an option (i.e. you have the material as opposed to the tokens) then I'd recommend going with the black kat seraphynx, because you think it looks cool and the helmet is relatively useless compared to black kat.
Kat tribe fetishes can be found via checking the wiki and using your imagination-

Step 4: Scroll down until you discover the ancient page token you just read about. Read more about it.

Step 6: Read about the event and create a game plan for when it next comes out.

Basically I agree with Fehzor. Kat Claw Cowl is not terrible armor, but it's not great either. It's not really worth getting. And you're into the Black Kat Seraphynx for some reason. So get that.

The vog set is terrific for the clockworks, as it gives fire resistance. It will make good starting armor for you, and has long been seen as one of the classic starting sword user armors. The snarbolax helm is OK. It would be fantastic, but the black kat items are just flat out better than it so I wouldn't bother.

You might even be able to trade your material + some money to get one from someone... the reason it would be good for you is because of how offensively potent it is and how little damage resistances are worth.

Dexbot-Elite, you might benefit from reading the Armor section of my detailed sword guide. It explains (spoiler alert) that the good sets are Black Kat, Chaos, Vog Cub, Skolver, and Snarbolax. And it helps you pick, although ultimately it's a matter of your goals, play style, and tastes.

i told you already
hey man you asked me the other day which is better because i had both the kat and helm on me. And i already told you that you already have a kat, the black kat is just a reskin of the old one and maintaining and feeding both is not worth the time unless your willing to spend a long time feeding and shell out serious coin for what is basically the same thing.
also the cowl is a good swordsman cap but you should focus on what build you want to make before you get it.

OP already has Seraphynx? Well that changes things a bit.
1. If you can, get a black kat hood. 3*.
2. If you REALLY want your seraphynx to be evil looking and don't mind grinding something else for a hat, go black kat.
3. If you'd rather get ahead, go for the auction house and sell your kat tribe fetish to fund probably either vog or chaos.
If you choose number 2, you have no right to complain about grinding for sprite materials ever again.

He already has a seraphynx? And he's wondering whether he should get a second one, in a different color? In that case, neither of the proposed items is worth getting. So he should get whatever seems fun.
Edit: Fehzor ninja'd me. But I strongly agree that Black Kat Hood should be obtained instead, if you have the Ancient Pages. It's one of the most powerful items in the game.
