Fixing Wiki URLs? Problems with case-sensitive URLs

In a web browser:
Typing wiki.spiralknights.com/vise will auto-capitalize to wiki.spiralknights.com/Vise and bring up Vise's page. Great! :D
Typing wiki.spiralknights.com/spike_shower will auto-capitalize to wiki.spiralknights.com/Spike_shower. It does not bring up Spike Shower's page. :(

Can we add wiki redirects for the lower-case multi-word URLs? Is that under our control? Is it a MediaWiki thing?
Or is this impossible?

yes, it's a MediaWiki thing

Yes, it's a MediaWiki thing to auto-capitalize the first letter, but no subsequent letters. You can see this all over Wikipedia.

In fact, this MediaWiki feature controls the "house capitalization style" of Wikipedia, where article and section titles are capitalized in their first letter but no subsequent letters --- for example, "Climate change denial", not "Climate Change Denial".

When I started editing the Spiral Knights wiki I had to adjust to the capitalization style here --- for example "Battle Sprite", not "Battle sprite".

Of course, proper nouns requiring capitalization are capitalized on Wikipedia. If you search for "Grand theft auto", you are redirected to "Grand Theft Auto". So yes, the standard way to deal with this issue seems to be manual redirects.

This list of templates may help, specifically this one for capitalized multiwords in the url.

@Topic

Yeah, I make manual redirects as I encounter the need for them. Have at it.

You could also mess around with this (firefox). Fun but not entirely applicable.

That template looks great! I'll start adding it as I come across things that need it.

...umm. So... how does this template-thing work? :D
(An example of an existing one will be enough to get me started)

Edit: I found http://wiki.spiralknights.com/index.php?title=Mecha_turret&redirect=no which seems to be just
#REDIRECT [[Mecha Turret]]
Is that what you meant? Because the template
{{R for alternate capitalization}}
seems like a completely different thing.

The reason I linked to that template is because it tosses it all into a category.

An example of how it should be used is: this.
Yes you can just use the #REDIRECT, but it doesn't say why you are redirecting or allow meaningful sorting of all the redirects.
