Random GM, could I use my own GunPuppy on the Spiral Knights forums? I don't think anyone has asked that before, so I am curious to know what the answer would be.

Oh, did I imply that? I meant for anyone. I just know that I would be using that picture as an avatar if I could, and I don't care if others want to use it as well.
I am aware that a few of our avatars are fanarts, but I don't know how they got on the list.

I've been interested in writing a script that allows us to use custom avatars, but I've had other stuff to do so I haven't done that yet and quite frankly I doubt I'll go through with it. I'd love to see anyone who knows JavaScript work out a solution, though.

I think a few people have asked for that, but not necessarily with their own artwork. That does make a bit of a difference, as they'd have your permission to use it in this case but I doubt it's actually gonna happen now. There have been plenty of requests for proper avatar systems, more avatars in the current system, et cetera. Don't think we've gotten any update to the avatars since 2011 or something.

Spiralknights.com overally haven't got update in maybe two years. Old media, no avatars, outdated systems, etc etc. I doubt you can login here via aeriagames account or something that was added in recent two years.

I want another contest
I'd love to have another "fanart" contest for more profile pictures. Maybe even a monthly thing and you could submit the same art again once every 3 months.
Having more pictures to choose from, especially art we've made, seems like a fun way to make the community involved with the game, even artificially!

All the more reason for someone writing an implementation on their own. I really wanna, but I'm not so sure there'd be an actual audience for it and I'm kinda scared of JavaScript and I've got other projects to do.
Question: would or would you not go through the process of installing a browser plugin such as Tampermonkey as well as a script for it in order to be able to use custom avatars here?

I think that's the best way to go about it. I would definitely do that.
I'd love to see that avatar as well as any other sprites you've got up your sleeve *cough silkwing cough* added to the list of Avatars for everyone and not just you to use. Having all of the forum users at any given time use mostly different avatars makes things much easier to read through.
