Ok I'm not saying Im great at Lockdown, because I'm really not that good.But when people like the two idiots in the video i linked below try things like this: it is just too funny and some people might
agree. I made few typing errors in the vid (/t /team and what not). But that's not the point. Its just what they said nd how they reacted to me. Luckiliy i loke to joke around, perhaps not with them tho. ;)

Ah, the SK community at its finest, people who can't even break 5k damage in a match go out of their way to claim they're better than someone else. Good to see that SK is still swarming with 8 year olds who should really uninstall the game and go back to Roblox. 10/10 video would lmao at again.

Looking at the comments here, it appears you're in the wrong subforum. Might want to jump over to the coliseum, which Krakob has linked, instead of making a post over here in general discussion.

And Khomie, I have a little score generator I made a while back that pretty much boils down to 1 cap = 5000 damage points, 1 defend = 3000 damage points in a tier 3 setting. Hence a player with 20k damage performed worse than someone with 3k damage but 4 caps and a defend in my own definition. It's all a matter of perspective really.
I mean, I didn't watch the video either, so if it's just trash talking and no captures/defends then that's just poor performance.

Now before you jump at me and say caps and defends contribute to your own team winning which is ultimately the point of the game blablabla, I don't care. I'll be looking at the notion of skill because that's what the people in the video are saying(they are claiming that they are better than someone else). Now then, let me say this. Capping is EASY and anyone can do it. Getting damage is NOT EASY. The whole notion of skill in this game is based around damage because more damage means you were able to kill(damage) your opponents more than they were. Capping involves literally 0 skill and a person with full proto set can do it(in fact I've seen some people do it like that before). So no, a player who has done 4k damage and 4 caps is not better than a person with 20k damage and no caps.

I've seen unskilled players get 13 caps and what, 1k dmg? It's easy as run away from everyone and cap.

I didn't mention skill in my point layout. I mentioned performance. You can score 20k damage on the losing team because you never capped, or you can score 3k with 6 captures and been what turned the tide of the game.

A well placed distraction can make your team a winner. In a team-based game, I determine performance on how well you contributed to the team. You own personal damage number means nothing to me.
I also say this because damage numbers are artificially boosted by means of damage enhancing gear and health trinkets. Captures and defends are not. You can win a game on captures alone, but not on damage alone.

Here's a thought: it's near impossible to solo cap 10+ without getting decent damage. Anyone who thinks you can just waltz around in Proto gear capping without someone killing people for you is crazy. So it's better to just do it yourself. Believe it or not you can cap and damage in the same game. People go to the caps, it's the easiest way to find damage.

Point: Damage and caps aren't mutually exclusive.

Exactly.

Players who both capture and have a high damage count earn my respect. Players who are willing to sacrifice both their damage score and their cap score earn it even more (i.e., chasing or luring enemies off a point long enough for others to come in and capture it instead), but in the end, if you only have damage and haven't made an effort to capture or assist in capturing points, then you just aren't really all that big of a deal in my eyes. Brag about your damage numbers all you want, there's a winning team and a losing team and you helped make your team what it is.
