I've seen an Obsidian edge and I liked the looks of it. I've viewed wiki and seen that Acheron is the best sword in the Brandish line. So is it worth it?, or should I just stick with Acheron. The Obsidian edge recipe is also hard to get, and I can get an Acheron recipe for HOH
Thanks in advance,
Thagx

Worth it

The Obsidian edge is an event weapon. While it may not be as powerful as the Acheron it's damage is still good and the strong poison makes this weapon great at countering healing enemies like Menders and Silkwings.

With the Acheron an pair of Menders can quickly undo your damage by laying down heal glyphs on the ground while the hordes of Thwackers keep you at a distance from their medics. With the Obsidian edge you reverse the healing with poison and can quickly cut through the menders since the charge attack damage can't be undone till the poison wears off.

This weapon has your typical brandish high damage, no knockback reducing status (like Voltedge or Glacius), and is the perfect counter to healing enemies.

Short of Obsidian items there is only one Shadow/poison weapon the Biohazard line.

Where on the wiki? This is a statement of opinion, not fact.

My detailed comparison is here: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/User:Jdavis/Swords#Shadow_Swords.

To address your specific question: The two are so similar that it would be crazy to get both, unless you are an extreme end-game player who is in "collect everything" mode.
