Okay there has been no expansion to this game ever, not counting the 3 dlc missions or whatever (don't own them, havent touched) wondering if this game will ever actually get more missions, more story to it, other than just reach the core, u beat the game.

False.

Snarbolax used to not be a thing, same with Roarmulus Twins. Operation: Crimson Hammer is a paid DLC expansion. Mission system used to not be a thing, same with ranks. Danger missions are free expansions as well, and Shadow Lairs are semi-free expansions with a lot of lore built into them.

This game has "expanded", and as Holy-Nightmare said, we just recently got an additional 3 vanguard missions. Those missions are the first in a line-up for new vanguard missions, and we will see more of those as time goes on.
We're also supposed to get an arcade redux and a new tier 3 boss in the future, so that's a thing.

As others have already pointed out, the game has expanded many times over the years. (That said, we could always use more content...)

other than just reach the core, u beat the game.

This part of your post makes me wonder whether you've done anything past Firestorm Citadel. For example, many players find Heart of Ice much harder than FSC.

@fangel

helpful post
expected to get yelled at but i figured i would find out stuff in the process, snarbolax isn't new to me or the twins, was here for that, same for crimson hammer, mission system, i was playing before it before i quit for awhile. new missions didn't know about those, didn't know about a new tier 3 boss or arcade redux planned.
still would like to see more players, game used to have a lot more socializing.

All depends on when you joined

If you joined recently or in the past year, yeah, not too much has happened in the game.
However the statement I quoted earlier was just entirely false so I gave some background.

Snarbolax isn't new to you, but that's because you joined later.
Danger missions aren't super new, but they weren't in here when the game launched.

Anyways, I'd recommend reading more into missions or trying to run the prestige/danger missions. There is a lot more to this game than "reach the core, u beat the game" in terms of gameplay and story.

This is what happens when you box in the game to appear to be solely about the Mission system, not allowing anything to progress outside of it.
You end up with players who leave the game after they run out of the one thing that seems to be driving the game along.

I'm probably sounding like a hipster now, with that whole "the game was good before you made it mainstream", but all I really want is for the mission system to be optional, so we're not railroaded into playing the game the way OOO wants.

Yeah I was hoping the Arcade Redux would be presented in a way to make missions feel less mandatory, and more a series of side objectives.

On that note, random thought: What if you could encounter missions while traversing through the Clockworks?

*EDIT: Maybe like a new gate(s) with a "mission strata", similar to how we have gates with boss stratas.

Yes, this exactly. And I wish they didn't remove the tier clearance certification from the subtowns. I mean, it might be too much to ask to do the missions in any order (instead of this excessive subdividing) but mucking around in the arcade and going from depth 1 to 8, and beating the Snarbolax is cool. Then you have to do it all over again because you didn't start the run from the mission menu.

I mean, it may mean that the run will be a lot longer, but honestly I think that starting a boss run from the mission interface should just drop you into the Arcade at the appropriate gate and depth. For example, starting King of Ashes would drop you at depth 18 in the Golden Skull gate or something. Completion credit would still be awarded to anyone who joins, provided they join on or before depth 23. I feel like this would solve a lot of problems.
