Depends
Sometimes I'll just turn down the game music and keep other sounds on then open the steam music thingy. Typically I'll just put it on shuffle with other game soundtracks that I have (Binding of Isaac, Payday 2, I Am Bread - which is stupidly fitting for whatever reason), or occasionally I'll play single songs on loop or listen to shuffled playlists of the schnuffel bunny.

I don't even ever listen to the SK music, my sound is usually off. Actually, I barely listen to any music (on purpose) throughout the day...For some reason I find it hilarious to listen to Green Day while playing SK (or while doing anything really, except reading or I get distracted) You know what, never mind, I don't listen to music that much because:
1. I have really weird tastes, in music and everything else. So I don't have a favorite genre/band/singer/songwriter/etc.
2. It seems that I can get distracted from the game really easily...
I would appreciate it if you guys could recommend some music :3

Thanks for posting listenonrepeat (had no idea it was an app)! Only problem I have is that the music I listen to sometimes is also on games and listenonrepeat takes youtube videos so you hear the SFX of the game too.
EDIT: found out you can delete tracks.

While I usually listen to the SK soundtrack, there are times where I'm craving something else... and lately I've been mostly listening to other video game music. :T Been on a huge NES kick, with tracks from Kirby's Adventure, Gimmick!, and Ufouria. I also have like 27 hours of Sega Genesis music in a playlist in Winamp but I haven't fiddled with that in a while. It's always fun listening to soundtracks on shuffle and a boss theme comes up right as you're descending to Vanaduke. >:3

Lets you listen to a song for hoursss. Literally. If you keep it in another window it'll continue playing, whereas keeping it in another tab will cause the song to stop. Some songs work better than others but I popped in Dangerous by Big Data and it was four hours of bliss.

I enjoy playing some Guitar Hero every once in a while. Honestly it's a lot like playing a real instrument in the way that I've done it for so many years and it's that kind of thing you just don't get bad at because you leave it be for a few months or even a year. I can at any time pick up a guitar and beat some pretty intense songs without any big problems. I should probably learn to play guitar or bass for real though, but I have a hard time finding motivation for that.
As for the games you listed, Faeyd, I don't really enjoy that kind of music. Metal is where it's at C:

I don't really have one favourite genre, I usually listen to a few unrelated bands for a month or so and then move on to other ones for a while. Either way, I guess my favourite genres are:
- Death (e.g. Carcass, Amon Amarth, The Berzerker)
- Gothic (e.g. Lacuna Coil, Tristania)
- Stoner (e.g. Spiritual Beggars, Kyuss, Electric Wizard)
You listen to metal yourself? I could ask you the same question.
As for Slash, yeah I'd have little idea of who he were unless it were for GH3 hahaha
