Hey everyone :) I'm a player returning after a couple of years, so I forgot basically everything I used to know about the game which honestly wan't much anyways. That means I'm inexperienced and thus would like to join a guild so that I can learn from other players. I'm looking for a guild specifically for LGBT people or at the very least a guild that is friendly and accepting to those of the LGBT community. Any information regarding guilds that fit the criteria would be much appreciated.
Returning player looking for an LGBT friendly guild
I am sure the Knights of Christ will be delighted to have you as one of their member.
Except you do not represent the KoC.
Why give a fellow who (I assume) doesn't know your history with Knights of Christ members false hope even for a moment before seeing your sarcasm?
~Elt
I thought one of your members said that they treated everyone equal, well except for me. Say, why don't you proof me wrong by actually accepting him? I would like to see some improvement out of KoC where you put the money where your mouth is, I mean seriously, that guild badge of yours is atrocious.
Ps. this thread is weeks old and judging by the fact that this person did not respond for this long means he/she either quit the game or already found a guild but can't be stuffed graveyard this thread. So why did you even bother posting here?
~Mid
Regarding the KoC conversation.
By far the best post I've ever seen Midnight make. Not that I have anything against KoC, of course. I've never been in their guild or interacted with them in any way.
Luke 5:32 - "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
We will take LGBTQ people. If your faith is sufficiently vetted, we'd be happy to have you. Please be advised, however, that we consider homosexuality a sin because Scripture says so, and we wouldn't appreciate anyone in our guild spreading teachings to the contrary.
We are all sinners. What's important is that we recognize our sin and repent. No one in our guild, least of all myself, is qualified to reject a potential member on the grounds of their having committed a particular kind of sin. That would be special pleading! Compared to the sin of unbelief, all other sins are basically equal. We are all sinners, and if I were to reject you for being LGBT, I'd have to eject the whole guild because we've all sinned. And then I'd have to disband it because I've sinned too.
We are more than LGBT-friendly. We are sinner-friendly.
That's not to say we're sin-friendly, though. Believers are duty-bound to help any brethren who stumble, and if you still find yourself a practicing homosexual while within our guild, we will all do our utmost to bring you to repentance.
No matter what happens, we will extend the same love and kindness to you that we extend to everyone.
From an objective standpoint, I agree that Midnight-Dj's post is, in fact, quite humorous.
Also, you have just now interacted with one of us. Congratulations! ^_^
/me throws confetti.
we consider homosexuality a sin because Scripture says so,
I hope Thin do realize that homosexuality is something that occurs in nature on a daily basis not only to human but to many animals (cows, sheep and pigs just to give a few example), this is not a choice, it is a nature given to by none other than your god if he even exist anyway. If a gay man loves another gay man, their love is just as pure as than of a heterosexual couple. Many gay priests are already in church around the world and there was even a gay bishop for that matter.
Sometimes I want to type some more stuff to Thin hope that maybe one day he can start thinking for himself other than responding mechanically according to a book. I always thought maybe a man who can write decent story and RP can realize that the people who wrote the bible may not had intended it to be a holy textbook that must be followed word by word but instead a set of loose guidelines that helps one in becoming a better human being. But I am just day dreaming, don't mind a unbeliever like me.
I do realize homosexuality occurs in nature. I also agree that it is not a choice.
That's because sin is in our nature. We have no choice but to sin. Even the plowing of the wicked is sin; since they do not plow in service of God, they sin. There's no escaping it. Just because they have no choice but to be homosexual doesn't make it any less a sin. It is impossible for an unbeliever not to sin. Their only recourse is to believe the words of God and become his servant. Only in the service of God are you able to do something right.
"...realize that the people who wrote the bible may not had intended it to be a holy textbook..."
Ahem.
"THUS SAITH THE LORD..." [any book of the bible]
When more than half of Scripture opens with "Thus says Yahweh," I think it IS intended to be a "holy textbook" to be followed word-for-word, especially when what often follows is a vivid depiction of the consequences for failure.
"...responding mechanically according to a book..."
John 6:68 - "Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for all good works."
Good luck finding the truth any other way.
Hi all,
Let's please re-rail this thread back toward the search for a compatible guild.
If you wish to have a full-on debate about religious doctrine, please use an off-topic area to do it.
Thanks!
I love how Thinslayer tried to convince me that he is right without even giving a shred of evidence that his god exist other than using circular reasoning around the bible that even a primary school kid would laugh at. And besides, if he really want me to think that bible should be taken word by word, then he should at least have the decency of explaining why is it that he thinks it is okay to kill someone because he or she killed someone else while the ten commandment CLEARLY STATES THAT "THOU SHALL NOT KILL" , which part of THOU SHALL NOT KILL did Thin not understand?
So here I have to conclude a few things:
Thinslayer is pretty much the Ken Ham of SK forum, no matter how much evidence piled up against his god, he just say 'nah, my god is cool GG #YOLO U SUK.' Who would rather follow a bronze age fairy tale book than oh I don't know, read a book about social psychology or any other fairy tale books Disney compiled these past few decades?
If Thin still thinks that he is going to have a new member than maybe he should revise what he just said, he pretty much stated that the OP is a worthless sinner until he agrees with KoC's code of conduct. So right off the bat, Thin is pretty much is blackmailing the OP, me and everyone to join him so some fictional god won't kill us. You know who else used this strategy? ISIS, Hitler, the catholic church and every Mafia organization ever.
@Bleyu
This discussion is painful for me, it is like slamming into a wall over and over again. If only thing Thinslayer can do is quoting from a 2000 years old book, then there is nothing else here that is worth talking about. Thinslayer will never be able to convince me of anything as much as I can convince him of anything, if he refuse to change his view, then why should I?
Oh yeah, BTW Thin, my last question to you was simply a test to see if you truly are a 'good' christian who can think for himself or a mindless robot who think solely to quote the bible, so far you are the latter.
@Eury
I think we are done here, there is ultimately not point in debating a man who says 'I am right and you are wrong, and there is nothing you can do to change me or convince me otherwise.'
It's better to follow a guidebook and find your way than to think for yourself and stay lost. Independent thought doesn't get you very far when you haven't the slightest clue where you're going.
And Faeyd, that was a vulgar comment. Not everything that occurs to you should be spoken.
You viewed my comment as vulgar? Not really what was intended. Knights of Christ for K.O.C is a really fitting name for the acronym. Or did you want it to be "Kings of Carnage?"
I'm sorry, Faeyd. Players seem fond of taking cheap shots at us, like Midnight-Dj's comment about our guild logo, and considering the atmosphere in this thread, I found it difficult to interpret your post positively. I must learn to hold my tongue when in doubt over such matters. Forgive me. I have no business creating more enemies than we already have.
You should go my thread (Above) and fill out an application we are fun, friendly and active. We are also an pvp/pve guild so we can do everything.
