LD gear discussions were initially planned to go in The Arsenal, actually. But since 90% of readers of either forum doesn't read the other the Coliseum is a better idea.
As for the one best weapon, it's probably Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade.

The ammount of times I have seen this kind of question being asked around this forums only tells the laziness and lack of game knowledge that goes around.
There is no "best weapon" in this game, only choices. (and imbalance, but that is out of the question)

There's actually 2 that are the best, alchemers and toothpicks, since you have 2 weapon slots, you can have 1 of each at the same time, goo jahb ;o

The best LD weapon has always
The best LD weapon has always been, and always will be, whatever you are best at using. For some it is the Alchemers, others it is toothpicks, for me it is the hammer.
Same thing for the class you play. Most use striker, some people completely wreck as guardian, and a good recon is something that is blatantly feared due to them actually knowing how to play the class well.
