I was kind of wondering in any case... First person view option?
I mean we've seen you change camera angles in places like Lord Vanaduke's Castle.
Why can't we change some thing to make it seem like your playing in first person as a option?
First person?
Yeah... These are metal people right? The knights could have a indicator of whats around them, using the map or something. Besides, your always looking around in a first person game. If this was you'd just use the mouse right? Like in First Person Shooters your mouse is your key to seeing everything.
This game is a top-down dungeon crawler. In order to make the levels work as they do, everything you cannot see from the camera angle given is simply not there. You can see this on pot spawners if you walk high enough past them, the little spot behind the top opening has no texture and is just transparent.
It's not as simple as "put camera on player". It's "revamp all artwork so that we can view all of it, and then optimize the levels so that you don't lag like crazy". As of now, the game works just fine.
Not to mention that in many places enemies spawn behind the player. This would make it easier to lose HP and would make Wolvers a pain to fight.
This is interesting. Not only would you be moving your mouse a lot more, but you will need to rely on the map to view enemy placement (shown as red dots). It seems playing this way would be somewhat of a learning curve (heh, what if Three Rings didn't add a map for the game?)
Certain enemies disappear from the minimap during attacks (Stalkers, and slime/undead minis). Also with the addition of Up and down added to aiming getting hits would be harder and having AT on would make the game feel jerky (the motion not the attitude).
It would be nice though.
;)
Here... Look at this

A first-person spiral knights is a completely different game.
What you want is a completely different game.
seems like it could be a fun idea in haven maybe, but while exploring, you have to be aware of what's around you. like, what if a monster is behind you, or you accidentally back up into spikes?
