I don't understand it. I've heard that inflation happens when the amount of crowns earned has increased, but the amounts earned hasn't increased. In fact, it was nerfed a long time ago.
Can someone please explain to me?

you can say "thanks" to the people who support "scam promo boxes" who even would pay 5 dls for 25 confettis. i stopped to give money to this game because promos used to be "energy + boxes" which made viable to buy more energy in the promos days, so if i dont get what i want from the boxes at least i can buy it with energy.
you can thanks too to the fact that the game dont need energy anymore (only to buy stuff from supply depot which in your case would be orbs, and for energy gate and stuff you can activate in clockworks) so why buy energy? if i can farm the orbs just looping some missions until you drop these (oh right i forgot why i stopped to play the game... because the game feel more like a chore than a game).
also another reason why the price raised a bit right now would be because a few forum buddies read that we going to have a flash sales at april 2, so probably they want to hoard the energy to buy stuff in flash sales...
Anyway... "Scam box" promo without energy... made some people turn away their wallets for OOO because seriously that isnt a promo. but oh well while people still pay for it i guess its "fine" for them.

There was a sale in the depot for Extra Verts.
Energy prices increase when there are less people with energy, so the people with the energy can decide the price without having to compete with a lot of other people with energy and the higher they can make the prices.
So the less people buy energy with real money, the more expensive energy gets to buy with in-game crowns.
