Hi, forums! I'm in Indonesia right now. My flights back home will be as numerous as they will be time-consuming, and as such I'm looking for something to stave off boredom during the approximately 24 hours I'll be spending at airports and airplanes.
What I have in mind is something in the vein of novels, comics, podcasts, low-battery consuming videogames, et cetera.
The tools at my disposal are as follows:
- Samsung Galaxy S4
- Playstation Vita
- A crappy Chromebook (with Linux also installed)
Airports sometimes have free wifi, but it's usually bad and shouldn't be relied upon. I'm hoping I can have all my entertainment ready before the trip itself (which is on the 19th). I may or may not also be able to find power outlets at some airports, but this should be considered a bonus rather than a given.
Variables to consider:
- Two of the flights are ~5-6 hours each. The phone is probably going to die during that time if I use it for video or even audio.
- The youtube app lets me download videos on the phone for offline viewing and it's pretty cool, but it's a big battery drain and I only have a couple of gigabytes free.
- I only have a couple of gigabytes free on the Vita as well.
- I don't mind paying for some new vita games as long as they're good. Am considering Virtue's Last Reward.
- The chromebook can't be used on planes because there's simply not enough space to unfold it. It has a good battery life, however, and I'd love to get some mileage out of it at airports, if only to give my phone opportunity to charge.
- I friggin' hate Vita games that make you use the rear touch pad.
