As for the balance of chaos, I would have to say that I like the concept and that it's only really broken because of how much resistance it has. Using chaos and another armor like volcanic demo helm grants you +2 fire resistance and +4 bomb CTR with +2 damage/ctr all around. You have gone from taking fatal fire damage every time you even think about fire to taking moderate but not fatal damage that can be further boosted using unique variants to the point of being outright resistant to fire. With +8 fire from variants, you'd have 8+4-2 = 10 fire resistance, which would be enough to run C42 without having to worry about fire whisps. Chaos also has the same health and only slightly less armor values than say, a vog set. The fact that you can overcome these things is broken; chaos as a set without overcoming anything functions as intended on levels that have statuses present.
